Now, I don't think that Ford should have done that and I think the timing was terrible. I think our provincial premieres should stay in their own lane, out of federal politics. Including our own.

But, I don't see what the right is so mad about. The entire address backs up what was in the edited portion. And to call it fake...

Could the U.S., and the world really, use a President Reagan right now!
The Reagan ad showed the American people that Trump was lying to them about his Tariffs. Trump also doesn't like to be humiliated or shown up.

The uproar is definitely unwarranted. Technically I guess one could say that the Reagan address at the time is being taken out of context. His address at the time was specifically directed towards Americans and Democrats who were anxious about Japanese competition in the 1980s which was having impacts on the American economy and workers.

But the address was consistent with Reagans general view on tariffs, so they have no reason to be mad about it. Nothing that was edited out misleads anyone about Reagan's general views. In fact, Reagan was the biggest proponent of NAFTA at the time. He thought integrating Canadian industries and the economy into the U.S. as much as possible was important for the U.S.'s national security.

Trump likes to compare himself to Reagan and invoke his legacy, but it's clear that he has no idea what Reagan was all about.

I dont think he could even spell 'Reagan' he just likes him because his first name was 'Ronald.'

I cant even fathom Trump sitting through a History class.

He’d fall asleep within five minutes and the stretch from his $h1t-filled diaper would have his classmates moving as far away as possible. Of they’d leave the room and he’d wake up later to find himself alone.

Rare to get any good news down South, but Dick Cheney has died so celebrate good times and all that.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has said he would "impose a 100 percent tariff" on New Yorkers moving to Texas.

“After the polls close tomorrow night, I will impose a 100% tariff on anyone moving to Texas from NYC,” the Republican wrote on X on Monday night.

Uhm, how do you do that? Like, what are you tariffing? If you are wondering how that can even be a thing, or if it's legal, well keep reading!
Quote:
Tariffs are taxes on goods, not people, and U.S. states are not permitted to impose tariffs on imports from other states, let alone people. Furthermore, the Supreme Court has recognized that the constitutional right to travel includes the right to enter and leave another state freely and to become a permanent resident of another state.

Ya, so no. A clown show could learn a thing or two from these bozos.

He has to use words the smooth-brain MAGAs understand, and they’ve expanded their vocabularies to include “tariff” because of their Dear Leader. He’s only got so many options that crowd can understand, so can you blame him?

So is Mamdani going to win the Mayoral race in New York today?

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveb...st-cuomo-sliwa

He's quite different from the two old white guys he's up against with a platform for affordability with free transit, rent holds, and free child care. Plus the dreaded 2% tax increase for those with 7 figure incomes. He draws the ire of Trump and a lot of other republicans...and I think a few elitist democrats too.

I'm interested to see if he does win because I've been wondering if we don't see a much harder left rise up to take on MAGA. Part of me wonders how long until it get's violent.

Many states do have an exit tax for leaving....but I guess a Tariff for showing up is something new. Doesn't matter, these New Yorkers will just go to Florida...those with measly 7 figure net worth's might have to settle for Georgia or South Carolina.

Looking at the polls, I'd say there is no chance he doesn't get elected without serious ####ery.

Cuomo is endorsed by both Bill Clinton and Trump. Last guy I know of who had both those guys as supporters was Epstein.

The families of the millions of Iraqi civilians that died from the invasion of Iraq are probably feeling pretty good today.

Like the guy below, who lost his wife, daughter and brother to "faulty American intelligence", when forces bombed their home while they slept, which they admitted to being a mistake. The Americans offered him $15,000 for the three though (more than the normal price of $2,000 America had set for Iraqi lives killed by the west in error), which he of course rejected.
