I've always operated on the "put them up whenever, but turn them on after November 11th as a sign of respect" principle.

I'm only partly in favour of the never take them down. Not because of the respect angle or anything, but depending on what exactly we're talking about it just looks ridiculously trashy. I do want people taking care of their property.

So a guy at work this morning tells me a story about a flight attendant who was murdered at Pearson airport in 2007 and her body found in a house over a decade later. I had never heard the story and he's pretty reliable so I looked it up.
All I could find was some cold-case youtube channel that had a 48 minute video. I didn't have time to watch yet, but scrolling down, apparently every single case on the channel is made up for entertainment purposes.
