Yeah, have to think this is where we’re at. Managers probably feel the room is likely dying, and has the potential to turn toxic. Other teams are looking for the Flames to deal from weakness to keep festering to a minimum. As the recent article implied this is a time of caution for the team, if there were good deals for some of the guys who will be moving, they’d have been made. A team will become a bit desperate soon and feel the heat to make a real offer, Conroy is being appropriately cautious.
Let’s just hope an injury doesn’t alter the plan.

I would personally take Rossi over any of those guys if he was available. He was a stud in junior, watched him a lot, he basically made Jack Quinn a top 10 pick as Rossi was always the best offensive player on the ice for the 67’s. He has continued to produce offence at every level he has ever played at. Not sure he would be available but with Guérin maybe you can get him. Suspect he ends up being a consistent 60+ point second line center for the next 6-8 years with PPG upside. But he might be too small for a guy like Billy.

I know we are winger bottlenecked but I’d do a swap for Lafreniere. He needs a change and I’d drop him with Huby. Not sure on what deal there would work but would be interesting

The reason no one has been moved is likely because the ownership/management are still holding on to hope that this is a playoff team. Elliott Friedman has said as much, that the Flames do not want to rebuild and went into the season thinking they were a few pieces away.
Yes, it seems unbelievable but this is Murray Edwards lol.

Andersson is a sunk cost now. Don't know the offers will get better than they may have been last year .
Kadri? Seems like the market is white hot for him so that's shouldn't be an issue .
I don't necessarily know who else they would move and what the offers are but vets wise, Coleman will have enough interest to garner an okay return.
Should they make bad trades ? No. Well, I'll say Anderssons trade will be bad . And yes, holding out hope that things will get better is how we ended up here with Andersson anyways. More than a few of us called it in the offseason.
People will say making moves for the sake of making moves is bad. Well so is sitting on your hands. And since sitting on their hands has resulted in the worst start in flames history, let's try the alternative. What's the worst that could happen? The exact same thing that's happening right now. That's it.

I think I would narrow down the Wild asset list to meeting our requirements:
Rossi (C)
Stramel (C)
Buium (LD)
For them to get Kadri, they would need to shed about $3.3M in cap space to make room. Swapping Rossi for Kadri makes that easy because moving Rossi clears the required cap space. On the one hand, trading Rossi makes sense based on the talk around him last season. On the other hand, adding Kadri would push Rossi down to the third line which may work out well for the Wild.
Trading for Stramel would mean a cap dump would need to happen to make Kadri fit. Considering the NTC and NMC on the roster I do not see a lot of options to clear space. Trenin?
Buium would be amazing but I doubt it is feasible.

I too wouldn’t get hopes up before American thanksgiving is over.
But lots of teams circling the Flames and keeping tabs every day.

And people need to stop treating Parekh like a diety that is too good for junior. He is 19 and clearly has a lot of room to develop.
The biggest issue is his physical development. He is taking a nasty hit every night. There have been way to many examples of players coming to the NHL before they were physically ready.

You can't possibly believe something as one dimensional as this.
As to the last paragraph, yes, physical development is an issue. The.answer for that isn't junior, it's being with the Flames trainers.

Call me crazy, but if it's Minnesota, I'm asking for Adam Benak and David Jiricek.

Would you take Kampf on from Toronto if he came with a prospect or pick? Would seem to be an upgrade on Kirkland.

In the scenario where the Flames trade Kadri.
If a contending team offered CGY a late 1st at the deadline for one of Frost, or Zary, would you take it? Also which one would you prefer to trade? Or do you prefer to see what they will do with the increased ice time?
For context Frost was selected 27th overall, Zary was selected 24th overall.

I would be hesitant to part with Zary, but I would give up Frost. There are some excellent players in the first round on forward and defense in the draft this summer- the more picks, the merrier. I think there’s a lot more to Zary, but I would have to think about whether or not he will ever fulfill his potential on this team.

I would move Zary before I moved Frost. But I wouldn't have much problem moving either.
