I can't recall seeing a single rebuilding team fan base mentioning how fun and exciting it is to watch. That seems like such a pipe dream to me. I remember so many posts by Gaskal in PGTs by Anaheim, San Jose or a Chicago fans talking about how painful the games are to watch or how crappy the coach is (Dallas Eakins anybody?) - it's by design!

He didn’t say they don't want that. He just brought it up as another factor to consider.
If Parekh starts playing wl, no one will care about the 9 or 40 games.

Oh hi, I’m Kevin Bahl, I think I’ll just pirouette back in front of my own net like I’m Denis Savard, stop skating, and then try to dangle Filip Forsberg.
Christ on a cracker.

I don’t know how some of these vets wake up look in the mirror and think this is fine.
I’d be embarrassed to showcase this crap on national tv.
This team is cooked.
No confidence
No swagger
No youth left in the lineup
The draw to watch these guys this year fades every time they scratch a young guy and then force us to watch veterans who can’t score put in all the offensive zone starts.
Wolf looks absolutely shattered playing in front of this team to boot.
I’m not even made we’re losing, just wish we gave more opportunities to the young offensive guys to play their game the way we drafted them to play.
It’s a shame Zayne can’t play AHL, we need to bribe whomever necessary to make it happen.
I’m almost to the point where I don’t want him near Huska.

So, they are waiting to see what directions they plan to take before playing Parekh.

Just shortsighted bs as always. I don’t give a sh*t if we’re losing every game, I’m a flames fan I’ll always watch. But what’s non negotiable for me is not playing the kids if we’re gna lose anyways.

We were spoiled by Hartley hockey. He scratched the vets O'Brian, McGrattan, Sarich all absolutely hated him. Rumor has it that he even made Kipper go into retirement early, but he sure gave Monahan, Gaudreau, and even Brodie, and Backlund a huge opportunity.
On the down side neither Monahan nor Gaudreau managed to figure out the defensive side of the game for a long while after.

We have a few rookies having their sophomore slumps at the same time; Wolf, Coronato, Zary
Then we also have rookies that are learning on the job integrated into the team; Honzek, Parekh, Klapka
And finally, some vets that are slumping; Farabee, Sharangovich, Weegar
Tough spot for the Flames. They are an easy 2 points for any good team.

Just put Weegar on his left side, and play him with Parekh 20 minutes a night.
The NHL isn’t a developmental league, but for this team this year, yes it is.

That is the Calgary Flames way traditionally. We were hoping this would be different, but it looks like things will never change.

They need to be developing and putting the young guys (who are the future of the club) in positions to succeed. That means playing them over stop gap plugs and underperforming vets.
This is the year to let them learn the hard way

Huska is doing what Gully did to Bennett, but at a significantly faster pace.
I swear, it’s like the Flames think they need to run young talented players through boot camp.
Destroy what “they were”, and make them whatever you want them.
There’s no room for skill on the Calgary Flames is what the actual actions of the coaching staff has told the players this year.
Instead of coaching to the skill they have, they coach to the lowest common denominator on the team…which just happens to be the useless veterans, at the expense of the skilled youth.
