Default Unbelievable video of multi car pile up in LA

Morning rush and people obviously not paying close enough attention. I can't even imagine the horror.

No, seriously, how f'ing stupid are people? I can see a couple cars getting piled up like that, but there is no possible way that many cars get involved if people are paying attention to the lights of the cars in front of them. Unbelievable.

That's just jawdropping.

My first though is how dumb can people be, but the reality is that everyone see's a half dozen morons driving everyday, it makes me think that very few people really understand that they are controlling a missle on wheels.

And that is why "20 clicks over" is not a good idea. Anytime. I would prefer to do it but don't as the odds of shinguard like this happening increase big time when you do.

Ugly, ugly scene.

If you aren't paying attention, like it looks like most of those people where not, then it's not going to matter how fast or slow you are going. Even at going the speed limit (100km/h), you would not stop in time if you aren't paying attention.

I wonder if where the accident happened, if there is a blind spot or something like a little hill that would be obstructing ones view.

Man that is awful.

I know exactly where that is, the 101 South just before the Cahuenga exit, the crucifix on the top of the hill is the give away. That is a ridiculous stretch of freeway too. The people that are coming towards that accident can't see because they are coming from the other side of a hill where you can't really see what traffic up ahead it doing. There's been many times when I've come over that little hill and had to hit the breaks hard.

I've found it an easy trap to fall into of just following the bumper in front instead of trying to watch the horizon.

Because he didn't want to die trying to stop the cars? I think he did more of a service getting this behavior and tragic event on film then futilely attempting to stop anything.

I once heard an interesting answer to the question "Why don't we have flying cars?". This video shows that answer in crystal clarity.

Haha...exactly. Cause in his video we heard him say it - zero times.

I wondered why he was there as well, and filming for that matter.

I'm questioning why he was there with his camera filming the highway in the first place. I have come to the realization that in Los Angeles, there's people who live in bushes, who's man goal in life is to film anything and everything in hopes of getting that paycheque from CNN or NBC for their "On The Spot" video tape.

He was [probably involved in one of the accidents or stalls that you see down the road, then decided to get out and film everything because it was becoming increasingly dangerous.

There is another video like this one where a large van stalls in the fast lane of a freeway. The guy gets to the side of the road and starts filming. Suddenly a car creams the back of the van at full speed. There's nothing a person can do, unless you want to get yourself killed as well.

There is nothing he could have done. If the cars can't see other cars on the road, they won't have a chance of seeing a person. It would be suicide for him to do anything.
