News Roundup

Calgary Flames Prospect Roundup

Prospect development outside of the NHL for the Calgary Flames proves that, once again, the future should be the plan for the organization. More and more prospects are finding their groove as the season goes on.

‘Get rid of October’: Three takeaways as Flames suffer shootout loss in Ottawa

It won’t go down as the most ugly, most awful October in the Flames’ franchise history, but it wasn’t far off.

It will hardly feel like a happy Halloween as the Flames sit at a scary 2-8-2.

GAME DAY Preview: Calgary Flames @ Nashville Predators

The Calgary Flames (2-8-2) will travel to Music City to take on the Nashville Predators (4-6-2) in early afternoon Saturday NHL action.

Calgary is looking at a team that has been decimated defensively.

The Preds have given up the second-most goals in even-strength hockey (36).

Are those "league rankings" AI generated perhaps? Or has the league expanded way more than I remember?

EDIT: also, the stats themselves seem to be off too (GF, GAA etc.)

Looks like my rainy Saturday on the wet coast is a perfect alignment of Flames & Jays, I’ll be cheering for wins in both!

Son and I came down to Nashville for a long weekend and will be at the game. Hope to see a few Flames fans there!!
I feel like most Nashville sports fans are focused on the game in Austin this afternoon and it will be a quiet crowd.

Lucky. I really want to see a game there. I've been to the city a couple times and it's great (though I'm on a US moratorium right now).

You know the season is going bad when you’re ranked 62nd in a 32 team league

Yeah I hadn’t been to Nashville in years. Downtown is really fun and tons of new development too. I also didn’t realize they were replacing the football stadium.

I’m a day of game StubHub guy and the prices keep dropping. I guess not exactly a hot ticket.

Looks like Nashville isn’t a powerhouse again. Two team tankers competing for McKenna.

Hopefully Parekh and Zary are back in. Hope Pachal stays in as well.

I wonder if Huska is using the rotation for young guys to get a view from the pressbox for development or whether it’s for underperformers. Seems like a lot of young guys lately.

I would think it would be a tough environment where if you make one mistake you are toasted. Especially if it’s not applied equally across the lineup.

For the young guys? He says it is for development.

Have fun! I'm pretty sure the Barnburner guys are going down to that game. Keep an eye out for Pinder he'll probably be easy to spot wearing something obnoxious.

Yeah, Weegar seemed to be very happy the month is over. I'm sure he'll whip up the team.

But mid day start is weird.

Even worse if the boys went out last night for some bonding/blow off some steam.

If anyone sees Pinder and the boys down there, get pictures with them!

Matinee games on the road usually suck.

This year the Flames usually suck

Maybe 2 wrongs make a right. They could suck at sucking

True but never been so happy for a game to be scheduled in the afternoon, for obvious reasons. Regardless though, the Jays game would have been the first option.

Why would the Flames consider sending Parekh back to juniors?

How would this help his development?
