Easy to say he should have waited but the whole situation was very unusual and happened very fast. One step too many where it wouldn't have been too many in most situations

Barger is a beauty
Betts even said on Fox after game 'I knew that was dropping in and all of a sudden he was there'.
He ####ed up there. Meh. Curious if Straw tagged up?
Barger may be the hero yet. He almost was today, before becoming the goat

Yeah, as nice as it would have been I don't think Barger is getting to third. And he probably still makes that mistake.

The Jays chase Yamamoto before the 7th, get 4 guys in scoring position after that, but can't cash any of them in. The game plan worked out exactly like they would have wanted but zero clutch hits when it really mattered, that's not the team we've seen for the last month

Not at all, run scores and makes it 3-2 and clement is bunting barger to third. One run game with 1 out. We probably see a pincher hitter for Gimenz when all you need is a sac fly to tie it.

Not even close.
that's a rule and they called it properly.
Even if they get the ball out, I doubt Barger scores and it's still 3-2.
that's baseball...get over it.

They had several hard hit balls.
Sometimes bloopers.find a.hole and sometimes you hit line drives right into gloves

I think the equvalent to that would have been down 3-2 with the bases loaded, 2 out, and a full count and the ump calls a ball a strike.

The Dodgers were playing shallow to throw out a potential tag. Barger needed to make his first move back to second until the ball hits the ground. You can’t even think about scoring there until it drops.

Unacceptable to score 1 while allowing 3 with that hit count.

Yeah the lodged ball is a non thing
Confusing for the fans at the ball park perhaps but it was the right call without question

Just crazy that the ball got lodged there. Absolutely never happened in a game in Rogers Centre and then happens in the 9th inning of the biggest game possible (until tomorrow).

Yeah if the outfield was playing normal depth it lands but if Barger looked over his shoulder before the first pitch to Giminez he sees that Hernandez moved in. Betts knew too, if he didn’t he’s as dumb as Barger.

They all needed to take an extra beat and a breath. Even Vladdy signaled that to Bo in the 8th. Calm down, breathe.
As the night progresses, I'm a bit more upset at Clement, that needs to be a productive out. Again, see what Glasnow has for you, make him earn the out. I don't know if he'd ever come out of the bullpen before.
I hope Kirk is okay sounds like x-rays, hopefully precautionary

So how are you getting a run and two runners on from the lodged ball? It doesn’t become two hits instead of one.
The runner on third never really mattered. Unless you think it would have been a triple, it just doesn’t seem like a huge deal.
And honestly ground rule doubles are just a very routine part of baseball.

They needed to get to the guy that replaced Yamamoto and instead they let Roberts off the hook. I would have had him pitch atleast one more inning.

Easier said than done...could have hit a sac fly in the situation they were in but didnt

Nothing wrong with the lodged ball.
And on the play, maybe Miles scores, maybe. Depends on how the outfielders picked it up and got it back in. At worst it’s still 2nd and 3rd at best Miles scores and Barger at second. With zero out.
