I've got nothing to add, but this song started playing in my head as soon as I saw this thread

Where will you be based in Tokyo? The best times I've had were just wandering alleys for the random izakaya's. What kind of things do you like?

Roaming the streets of Tokyo to see what you find is the way to do it. Pick a neighbourhood and wander around. Shibuya/Shinjuku/Roppongi.. if you want to hit up tourist spots, hit Senso-Ji in the morning prior to crowds (or later at night). Eat some food, shop, have some drinks.. tons to fill your day with.

Will be in Ginza and that sounds right up my alley. Enjoy dive bars and exploring places by foot. So far have a run penciled in around the palace and just starting to plan. Will look into some izakayas

TeamLabs is amazing! You have to prebook really early but totally worth it. If I didn’t have my kids I’d also do the Mario Kart street carting.

It was still going last spring break when I was there. May be gone now, not sure.

Yeah, locals hate those ####ing #######s doing the karting not following the rules. It's not like these tourists can read the damn signs. Nevermind you're in a ####ty cart in full speed traffic or highways with no helmet or protection. Might as well ask to split open the brains of your family like a ripe melon if anything happens.
