For Flames playoff games and events such as tonight, I personally want to stick with routine and comfort solo in front of a TV.
No watch parties, no public viewing, no having to watch my profanity or yelling.

I think I want them to keep Springer on the bench and come give his all for an AB later in the game if needed.

There's a very real scenario where Springer hurts himself early in the game, Bo has to leave the game in the ~6th because he played 2B, and you're left with deja vu with France and IKF in your top 4 hitters to close out the game.

Game 7 is maybe different. But the full lineup minus Springer very much can win a WS tonight. If we're hobbled with some combination of France/IKF and have to score runs against Sasaki and the like...I don't like the look of that at all. We've seen that movie.

I cannot think straight. All the focus is this game, and we need to win it all tonight.

I've got a gig where the soundcheck starts at 5 Pacific (game time) and we start right at 8. Thankfully this is a venue that will have TVs and I can watch a bit while I eat dinner...gonna be a confusing and interesting evening. Go Jays! I'm going to accept that this one may go 7, and make plans for a watch party tomorrow night, which should ensure they close it out in 6. I'm going to predict that Barger is the guy putting us on top again tonight.

Man, some of these trick or treating workarounds are silly. Just take your kids early for the sake of it and buy them candy for one year, then close up shop. It's just one year, everyone understands, and will probably be more memorable to your kids to celebrate the sport. The Jays situation is a once in a lifetime thing to witness.

Speaking of which, last night I was trying to book a bar downtown Toronto to watch the game. Zero availability, though some places are simply first come first serve. I probably haven't understood the magnitude of an economy boom for an event until this one. Everyone in the city is now a casual fan and all you have to have your restaurant is a TV and you'll be busy for the night. What an event coming up.

Yamamoto is either really good or really bad. The Phillies got to him in Game 3 and the Jays could have given him a severe body blow in the first inning of Game 2

Radio is your friend. Take the kids out and have the game on radio, get back around 7:30 for the rest of the game.

God dammit I am getting excited. Even with a pessimistic view, if you take the implied odds of the Jays winning tonight of 45%....

That's basically a coinflip that by the end of the night we are celebrating a ******* world series

I hope they just light him up tonight. That would be so epic.

I think stuff like this can make it even more memorable when a big game like this is happening around other stuff. We've all heard the stories of kids watching the final game of the 72 series in school gyms.

This may be the last year my daughter goes trick or treating so I'm also hyper aware of that. You only get x number of halloweens, Xmas mornings, etc.

I'll figure out how to do both and it'll be awesome either way.

Baseball game is too long and stressful anyway, especially this one

Anyone that has to head out will be back in plenty of time for the later innings

You'll miss out on the Jays putting a 5-spot up on Yamamoto in the 1st

For us nerds:

Basically - the Jays were unlucky last time (and no, not Blake Snell “unlucky”, but actually unlucky)

Screw that, I'll be staring at my phone ignoring my children walking around the neighbourhood bumping into people and likely getting mowed down by an SUV in a crosswalk to end it all.

Jays hitters need to disrupt Yamamoto’s rhythm and an effective way to do that is with runners on base.

Can’t let him dictate pace in the batter’s box and continue to keep them guessing.

Work the counts, foul pitches, and make him work from the stretch.

Different ballgame if the Jays can do this.

I have to write a bunch of employee reviews today for my job and I just can't freaking concentrate.

My dream scenario today, Davis Schneider has a walk off (doesn't have to be a homerun).

With Yamamoto I really don't think it was a matter of being unlucky. He's got 7 pitches. There's nothing to figure out but waiting on a location and making contact. He's legit good.
