I'll take the lower quality 2B defense to replace IKF's bat with Springers and it's not even a discussion.

I don't think the D takes much of a hit with Bo at 2B. If it does, it's only because he's on a wonky knee right now. Everybody saw the play he made up the middle in game 1.

Man I hope he comes back on a multi year deal and ready to be the full time 2B moving forward.

If they get him and Bieber to come back they could go on another run.

lol I don’t know how you are looking ahead at future seasons and possibilities when the holy grail is 9 innings away.

32 years…. And we are on the edge of glory. Just get the job done!

I want them to just win it on game 6, my heart won't be able to handle a seven heaven.

Haha I know. Trying not to focus on that right now or I'll be too much of a bundle of nerves.

Yeah a lot of time to figure out the future and rekindle this past season after this weekend.

TLDR though IMO if the Jays lose just one regular season game they don’t get this far. It means they had to play the WC vs Boston. Even if they get through that and have a champagne party, they’ve not had physical or mental rest and the rotation is all messed up vs the Yanks and that series could go different. And or Springer gets hurt earlier etc etc. But the 1st round bye and rest was critical for this team.

Going back further, this team started the focus on small ball when Santander got hurt. That’s not his game and he’s hopefully not hurt next year. And then Bo. There’s a much different vibe around him then Vlad. Atkins and Shapiro strung out the Vlad signing into the season.

But that’s for another day. It’s all in front of the Jays this weekend to make Canadian sports immortality.

You've been the most even-keel poster when it comes to the Jays. I appreciate how you would always mention this is a good ball club and baseball is a long season through all the ups and downs. The boys will get it done today .

I just have a feeling IKF will come through massively in one of these games at the plate.

Obviously the big question mark is can Springer actually swing effectively? That doesn’t seem like an injury that heals itself in 70 hours to be able to swing like normal again.

I get the pride and wanting to be in the lineup for a WS clincher, and am sure there’s a plan if he’s not going to be good enough after an at bat or two, but because the Springer decision is also directly linked to Bo, and putting Bo as risk for further injury out in the field (and reduced infield range), it has further complications and just can’t be an ego thing.

How's everyone feeling today?

I don't think the magnitude of what's possible tonight has quite set in yet for me

I am going to get exactly nothing done today. Should not even be at the office. I'm nervous, excited, scared.. All of it.

It's a work from home day for me and I am having a hard time staying on task. My wife just found me wiping down our kitchen cabinets. I think I'll be using lieu and wrapping the day up at noon and have a beer lol.

I think having 2 cracks back at home was always key.

Yamamoto is just so good. Can he be THAT good again? That's the question. And to be fair, the Jays have beat some of the best starters in the league.

Yeah, Yamamoto is a great pitcher, but he is being made out to be an unbeatable godlike entity everywhere I look. his ERA isn't 0.00 and never has been.

The key for the Jays will be to keep it close and Gausman gives us a great chance to do that. Our last game against him, Vladdy hit a rocket off the wall that was a couple feet from a 2 run homerun, if that ball sails over, its a totally different ballgame and we might hang on to win it.

I want both Springer and Bo in the lineup tonight. Offense has to be the priority to give us the best chance of getting guys on base and causing some chaos.

As a defense mechanism, I'm scared.

History as a fan of anything has conditioned me for heartbreak. With it being so close, this would hurt so much, so I haven't allowed myself to actually consider what I'd do if they actually win.

I'm trying to enjoy the experience and soak it in for better or worse. But until it's closed out, I'm afraid I'll be a nervous wreck.

There are going to be a LOT of surly dads out trick or treating with the kiddos in western Canada tonight. At least out east, the little kids will be done before first pitch. Out here on Van Isle where I am, it's right in prime time.

At least I can see my TV from the front door and porch...maybe I'll save some time and just throw candy the second they start to come up the driveway.

Baseball playoffs as we know come quick with 3 games in 3 days. Hockey you’re used to the day or more break…so it’s hard to get ready for the magnitude as it’s happening, whereas hockey you can analyze the prior games day by day and look forward to the next ones.

So it all happened so quick and in LA with the 18 inning game and Yesavage win, so even with the off day it’s not enough time to process all game analysis and stories before looking ahead to what could be the incredibly surprising victorious end.

And now a Game 6, where 27 outs away from winning will take some more twists and turns while still trying to wrap the head around what happened in 2 epic games in LA.

Reminiscent I guess of when the Jays won in 1993. That game in Philadelphia coming back to win 15-14 with 6 runs in the 8th inning of game 4 was a lot more massive than given credit for because the Carter HR overshadowed it two games later. But if the comeback doesn’t happen the Jays would’ve been down 3-2 coming back to Toronto.

A lot more low key this year but the game 4 ho hum win after the game 3 heartbreak is the biggest game this series so far. It will be overshadowed by the Game 3 and Yesavage win of course but it quickly negated the series lead annd perceived Dodger momentum and that game exposed the Dodgers pen which bled into game 5.

This. My wife has planned a trick or treat date in another neighborhood beginning at 5:30. The other parents aren't baseball fans. I'll be able to catch probably ~3rd inning on, but boy...I'm not going to look like dad of the year tonight.

I have overheard a couple people suggest they are going to project the game on their garage door.
