the Flames are currently spending $83,716,666.
The salary cap floor is $70.6M.
The Flames can drop 13M in cap.
If there's retention anywhere (like say, coleman and andersson), it's an absolute non-factor.
Kadri = $7M
Andersson = $4.55M
Coleman = $4.9M
16.45M at full cap hit if those players are moved. Just calling players up to replace them would likely cover the $3.45M that the Flames would need to maintain to stay compliant.

One again consider the source is a random guy on HFBOARDS, but that would be interesting if true and potentially also plays into the teams plans.

We didn't learn from Monahan?

Brayden Schenn (6.5 million) - has averaged 20 goals and 54 points a season the last 3 years compared with 29 goals and 66 points a season over the last 3 for Kadri. A much inferior player.
Sharks have nobody who is comparable
Nashville has Ryan O’Reilly who is comparable but not as talented offensively as Kadri.
Boston has Zacha but he is a vastly inferior offensive player to Kadri
Islanders have Pageau but he sucks.
Kadri is kinda in a class of his own for centers that are likely available.

How nice for us that Kadri's NMC changed (magically) to a 13-team NTC this year.

It actually makes sense for Kadri. It was going to change next year anyway so if a trade is inevitable, this gives him more time to establish himself on a new team.

I personally think Nelson is much better than some give him credit to be. But Kadri would be an upgrade on Nelson, and he got a haul. I really hope Conroy can pull this off soon.

Thanks. In the scenario that all three are traded, they almost have to retain on one of those contracts to keep cap compliant.

There would almost certainly be NHLers coming back in some of those deals

Has there ever been a bad market for anyone dangling a top 6 C?

I will say that if they can get a haul back for Kadri that will make me feel a lot better about moving a 1st attached to Monahan to be able to dump that contract to sign Kadri.

If what Cam Robinson is saying is true then the Flames have no choice but to move Kadri. The way he is describing it this will be the biggest return we can expect of our rebuilding moves. Honestly this could make up for trading Monahan and the 16th pick in 2025 to bring him in for 3 straight playoff misses.

It was always a positive asset move...price was high because nobody had cap. Flames also got Kadri because nobody had cap.

Was it Royle that said Frost has been discussed as well? Makes sense if teams are all in on centers.

Sharks could desperately use a top-six veteran centre to accelerate the last stage of their rebuild into completion; we'll do them a solid and reluctantly/only take their 2016 1st round pick for Kadri, and they can throw in a cap dump too. Get 'er done Connie and Grier. Sharks have had enough picks, now they need real veteran leadership to take them to the promised land.
A man can dream.

I'd argue that Kadri is the most sought after center available right now for a team looking to make a run. His name probably comes up every day at this point.

Any idea what the quality of prospect is being thrown around for him, Royle?

No returns that I've been made aware of.
Lots of 1st round picks being thrown around though.
