It’s the VETS that are screwing us over, not the young guys
Ok let’s take a look at the game tonight.
Farabee finally scores and we are looking good 2-1 going into the intermission.
Now let’s look at the breakdowns causing the goals against.
Backlund with 30 seconds left is loose and light on his stick at a critical time, turnover and no chance for Wolf.
Next: Hanley with a dumbass penalty. Andersson with a dumbass turnover. Bahl running over his own goaltender, no chance for Wolf.
Next: Weegar makes a bad pinch and then boom in our net. Notice a theme here. It’s the “dependable guys” that are sh&&tting the bed. Even Bean hasn’t been that bad.
Fridtrating….
Huska let’s start making our VETS accountable, I’m really not seeing the issues being the Parekhs, Klapkas, Honzeks of the world. Play the young guys more and the old guys that are screwing up constantly LESS.

The older guys are getting older. They will regress.

OK, let's look at the previous game. Five goals, one scored by Kadri from Huberdeau and Hanley, two by Coleman from Backlund. It was the vets carrying the whole team that time. Which of them was Huska supposed to scratch after that win to make them ‘accountable’?

Where some see it as screwing us over, I see it as helping the tank.
Tank commanders Weegar, Andersson, Hanley and Backlund have reported for duty!
Also, they won't bench the vets.

I agree on a few players - Weegar definitely. Bahl has been disappointing this year, and of course the elephant in the room always is Huberdeau
Backlund is hard to judge because he is 36. Hold him accountable for what, being old and still expected to play hard minutes? You are using a 36 year old in that role, a guy who in his prime was a low end 2nd line center, and you get the results you expect.
Hanley is also hard to get mad at. He is a guy we got on waivers, and that the coach decided, at 33, to play as an NHL #4.

On a team with only three top-4 defencemen, somebody is going to be slotted too high. Most of the time, Hanley has done a fairly good job of limiting the damage from that.

What has Huberdeau done? He's been making good passes to people who can't finish I really don't want know what people expect from a playmaker with no one to make plays to.

Yah, his possession numbers are really good;
Corsi - 66% (top ten in the league)
Fenwick - 64% (top 30 in the league)
Moneypuck is the source.

Hanley is so awful. Im tired of people telling me he's secretly a good defensive player. You can just watch him for 5 minutes and there's no way you'd ever say that again.
I wish he wasn't playing with our top prospect so often. But, I am ok with him playing in general, this year. And then hopefully never again.

I would prefer seeing Bru over Hanley.
I would prefer seeing Kerins over Kirkland.
I would prefer seeing Gridin over playing Lomberg every game.

- Brzu / Kuz / Grush should be getting call ups as soon as Andersson is traded.
- Kerins probably when Coleman gets dealt/Honzek sent down for further seasoning
- Gridin I think will be a full time AHLer this season until the end, when we reward him with the remaining "ELC" slide balance. He will be a full time NHLer next season.
We just need to be patient, and hope we are getting picks for vets when they are dealt.
