The NFL shows replays and highlights of calls and missed calls that affected the outcome of the game. The NHL just hides them.

If the NHL did that for an Oilers game, it'd just be a second showing of the game...

The NHL is scared to death of the officials’ union. If the players go on strike, there are no games, but most of the expenses go away. If the officials strike, there are no games, but the players still have to be paid.

The one time the league tried to tough it out with replacement officials, it was a stone disaster and they had to give in to the union’s demands in a hurry. So neither the league nor teams nor broadcasters are allowed to put heat on the referees.

You'd be up a lot of money doing the second thing

I've debated betting against the Flames in big games to hedge my emotions. Losing a game 7 is a massive kick in the nuts, but is there some amount of $ that would make it hurt less? If the Flames win and it costs me some $, I doubt I'm sad about it at all.

What a terrible call last night by the refs. Blatant manipulation to allow the McPP back in the game. The Flames would've won too the night before if they had that many power plays.

Nice, he's back! Took a little longer than last year. We know you weren't busy so it must have just taken a few extra months for the sting to subside this year.

You've had this super clever stanley cup post typed out 2 years in a row and haven't been able to hit submit. I can see how that must be hard on you little buddy.

Anyhow, keep up the funny posts. Arrogance is always a little more digestible coming from a loser.

As an adult I honestly can't imagine being a fan of the Oilers and making a fake troll account on a rival teams message board, but I guess there is nothing else for the troglodytes up there to do in that stink pit. Lord knows they aren't washing their sweatpants. I'm sure your family is really proud of you EDMONTONisNG. You learned how to type and use the internet! A rare feat for Oilers fans.

Team Canada hopeful Bouchard is minus 7. On pace for minus 80.

Yup. We out west are used to the mcteam bias, but you can't slip that #### past the eastern media darlings.

Watching tonights game, McDavid looked completely disconnected and responded with no shots, and a -1. While he has 11 points in 9 games he's been held to a single goal, and is a -4. He's playing like a guy that's regretting his extension.

If I was the Oilers I would be absolutley be freaking out on Bouchard, who on all goals against was pulling a major Homer Simpson ("Everyone be quiet he's about to do something stupid"). The first goals against was a absolutely brutal pinch attemp. On the second goal on the 2 on one he literally played the wrong guy. On the third goal he made a bad unsafe play and paid for it.

I know its early in the season but the Oilers in 9 goals are averaging two goals a game on 5v5.

I think age, and certain players not caring is going to sink the Oilers this year.

10 games or so in, do I have it right that based on last year's standings the Sens and Flames are still the highest ranked opponents they've drawn so far?

Habs were a playoff team (with less points than the Flames).

Without the refs in their pocket the prior two games the Oilers should be 2-6-1….. the call on Anderson in the Habs game was one of the most ridiculous calls I have ever seen.

The Oilers are not a good hockey team. The league has been trying to get Mavi over the top for years since they want so badly for him to be the face for the league.

understood, so were the Devils, but I guess my point was they haven't played any of the top 11 teams from last year yet (TBF they were one of those) and won't in their next 5 games either. this is a butter soft starting schedule

Haha, stupid Oilers!

Love seeing them lose in OT, especially after the refs gifted them the tying goal. Sweet justice!
