Well darn, Jack & Enzo were my top pick, was happy to get them on the 2nd round. I thought their careers/physicality would be a good match. But as soon as I heard them speak, I knew I was cooked

Finally got a chance to watch the first episode. All the Big Brother talk was super annoying. They are two totally different shows. I wish they would quit trying to force connections where there aren't any.

That being said, I did enjoy this 90 minute episode. Maybe they've finally figured out how to make them. Or maybe these guys being so bad about anything made it interesting because they were all over the place instead of just doing their tasks?

Staying in Europe is interesting. The family one, back in the day, that stayed (mostly) in the US was terrible. Europe will hopefully be better. I imagine, logistically, it's easier for the show to plan an all-Europe season. And lots of self-navigating should make things interesting.

I wonder if they did it this way due to the higher appearance fees that former Big Brother players might command?

I'm disappointed, though. As a Big Brother fan, I really wanted to see how Angela might react to being in places like Bangkok or India. Maybe they'll go to Naples, though. That might be chaotic/entertaining enough haha.

But in all seriousness, the one thing I hated about the family season (which I only got through about half of it before bailing) is that some of my favourite moments in Amazing Race are the airport flight jockeying, booking of tickets, etc. In general, the early seasons were so much better for that. Amazing Race All-Stars 11 was an all-timer.

From what I've seen of Angela so far, I can see her having a meltdown in Europe. She got stressed in The Netherlands, which is probably one of the easiest European countries to manage.

"This is not a block. It's just a road."

I'm starting to see why these people have had their most success in life when locked inside a small house on a studio backlot. Letting them go out in public is only putting them in danger.

This week, the teams struggled to make their way from Amsterdam to Prague. Then, they struggled some more making their way around Prague.

Somehow Hippie Michael Cera and his wife survived another leg despite being completely incompetent. Angela & Lexi fell behind at the end and are going home.

  1. Jas & Jag (win trip to Sri Lanka)
  2. Joseph & Adam
  3. Natalie & Stephanie
  4. Tucker & Eric
  5. Hannah & Simone
  6. Izzy & Paige
  7. Jack & Chelsie
  8. Kristine & Rubina
  9. Kyland & Taylor

This is going to be another one of those seasons where 1 or 2 teams run the table, right?

"I have the other half of your brain."

This week, the teams stay in Czechia and many of them remain completely lost even when they're in the right place. The top teams were pretty much already checked in (or Czeched in) at the Pit Stop before some had even started the leg.

It already feels like the top 4 teams are set and we're just watching each week to see the strugglers fall.

Many teams were bad, but Megan & Matt have been consistently the worst, and they're finally going home.
  1. Natalie & Stephanie (win $2,500 each)
  2. Jas & Jag
  3. Tucker & Eric
  4. Joseph & Adam
  5. Hannah & Simone
  6. Izzy & Paige
  7. Kristine & Rubina
  8. Jack & Chelsie

Pretty impressive I had the first and last place teams. Really they just put Megan and Matt out of their misery. They should have been gone week 1

Also pretty cool on Jas and Jag to give them first place as a birthday gift. They work really great as a team. Leaving directions and stuff. Also they broke up that challenge pretty good between the teams

Man that last team was terrible. I do like that the incompetence has been compounding week to week and there has not been a great equalizer to bring all the teams back together. The last team was 6 hrs behind the first team at the start of this leg! That is wild.

Also most Canadians would have finished that hockey challenge in less time it would take to put the “hockey skates” on.

Hell the first team was almost at the pit stop when the last team was starting. I don't remember that big of a gap before

In, I believe, Amazing Race 1, one of the teams was 24 hours behind another.

And in another early season, a team of two grandmas thought it would be smart to fly to Johannesburg via New York City and ended up two days behind.

I've been watching some of the older seasons and they're super entertaining. In the one I just watched, Amazing Race 15, one of the teams was clearly given a bit of a boost. With three teams left, the first two checked in at 11 PM and midnight. When the third team checked in, the sun had already risen and it was in Prague so probably 6 AM at the earliest.

But the next day (final leg), team 1 departed at 11 AM, team 2 12 PM and team 3... 3 PM. The flight was at 6 PM so clearly they didn't want a final leg that was a two-horse race.

The funny part was that third team, while aided there, was screwed on the final challenge and were awarded $300K due to the judges' screw-up.

"If this is real, I'm very very excited."

This week, the teams travel to Budapest and some teams see each other for the first time since the start of the race.

Apparently, the cab drivers in Budapest are the Amazing Racists -- at least towards people in turbans. It ended up being the first adversity Jas & Jag have faced so far, and they still managed to finish fifth. Tucker & Eric did the Fast Forward and jumped to the top.

Kat & Alex struggled on the final dance challenge, even though she's a former Dallas Mavericks cheerleader. They can't get it together and they're going home.

Kat and Alex just never could get it together.

This episode disappointed me. I used to live in Hungary, so was looking forward to seeing Budapest again, but juggling, dancing, and unlocking boxes did not interest me. It was fun to see the metro map and the metro stop names I remember from way back when.

Looking forward to Croatia.

I have a feeling the next detour or road block will be at designated time or 3 separate times for a flight/detour, so they can bunch them back up.

"It's not like I enjoy cutting open human bodies."

This week, the teams travel to Croatia. They all travel on one flight, so everyone is together to start the leg.

We see the return of the classic mid-Detour Double U-Turn, which I always preferred to doing the U-Turn before the Detour starts. The U-Turn slows down Izzy & Paige and Kristine & Rubina, but Simone struggles with the final challenge more than others struggled, so in the end, Hannah & Simone are the ones going home.
