Everyone complaining about the defensive system, the PP, the Huska extension, etc. Do you think that a different coach would make this Flames roster into a contender? This is so much better than picking 12th-18th at the end of the year.

What's more the Flames are in games, and are actually trying, that's the best type of rebuild you can get.

Some posters on here only know how to complain.

How could Yegor Sharangovich do this?

The system is too passive, neutering offense.

Good point and one shouldn't really expect a lot out of this roster. But it does make me frustrated that the org decided to reward what looks to be a fluke season last year with an extension.

Well, at least make it entertaining? 1 goal/game is hard to watch

I want them to lose and play entertaining hockey. Like the Sharks.

Not play this perimeter boring system.

New game, same sheet. How did some of these guys even get drafted. Must be for their ability to….. score? Nope…. Skate fast? Nope…. I guess maybe they were good at checking because there’s no offensive creativity. I guess they’re trying so that’s a positive thing.

Yeah its really boring bland hockey and it is neutering the already poor offense of this team.

You can clearly see, near the end of games this season when the shackles come off and theyre allowed to open things up more. Its so much more engaging.

For sure, and the organization can still pivot and bring in a different coach. Maybe one of the Peters (Laviolette, Deboer) would've done a better job.

I just hope that Huska is helping rather than hindering the development of the younger guys. He did a great job in his first couple of years, but this year raises some questions for sure.

Why did Conroy rush to extend Huska? Was he a flight risk?

Jason Strudwick and Colby Armstrong. The benefits of being friends with Connor McDsvid and Sydney Crosby

This GT is insufferable. That was a decent period against a hot team.

IMO the players are playing way too tight precisely because they can't score. If they get a couple of goals, they will start playing a lot more loose.

Also, if this keeps up then the Flames are going to move several players, and call up the likes of Gridin, Suniev, Kerins, Brzustewicz and Kuznetsov. If they call up Hunt and Miromanov after the trade deadline, I'll go get my pitchfork and go to Huska's office.

You'd better start sharpening those tines, then, because Hunt is the Wranglers' best forward. Yes, better than Gridin.
