I’m meeting Sunday with a kid who turns 18. Part of the birthday gift he wants is to sign this petition so I’m going to make that happen.

Just have to say - CPers Amethyst and D as in David and other Forever Canadian volunteers came to my event today and sat for 6 hours, on a long weekend Saturday, outside, to colllect hundreds of signature.
Mi, Ba - you two and the other FC canvassers are exceptional people for sacrificing your time for this cause. I watched as a canvaser politely explained ro a person who was hesitant to sign exactly what the petition was for and what it hoped to accomplish, and the person gladly signed.

To ALL FC canvassers - With all my heart,
THANK YOU!

Thank you for having us! The volunteers were very happy to be invited to a location where we could set up a table for signing, instead of needing to "hang out" nearby but not too close to somewhere.

If anyone else has an event next weekend and they'd like us to attend, feel free to get in touch. It's our last big push, before we need to start turning in our petitions starting on October 22.

No, I couldn't cut it in that business. I have a venture going now where I sell my pocket change after I bite it. I'm calling it "bit coin". I don't want to count my chickens before they've hatched, but it seems to be gaining traction on the internet, and I haven't even started any marketing.

When do you get your Golden Statue on Parliament Hill?

A bit late to the party, but Mrs. WhiteTiger got her credentials and set up her first signing station for today. Now she's gotten her first few signee's, and we are quite excited and happy about that.

Uncertain, but it will happen before I receive my Nobel Peace Prize.

I’m seeing a few new canvassers joining our Facebook group asking how they can get involved. We welcome you aboard and every signature is important but where were they two months ago? I understand scheduled, travel, illness, etc.

FC brass just put out a call for us to report out signatures numbers to date.

You should get some of them pointed at this petition to see if they can help!

https://recallnicolaides.ca/

Not to mention the "Alberta Funds Public Schools" petition.... They might be late to help the FC effort but there are other worthwhile citizen led initiatives that can really help Alberta (and stick it to the UCP).

Possibly teachers looking for something to do of value?

“From the reports that we’re getting, I am reasonably comfortable that we will definitely reach that 300,000 mark,” he said. “But we need more.”
Quote:
The campaign hopes to exceed the 300,000 mark by about 10 per cent, Lukaszuk said, pointing to uncertainty about the rate of invalid or rejected signatures.
Quote:
What happens next

Once the petition is submitted, Alberta’s chief electoral officer will review and validate the petition, removing signatures with errors or omissions.

If the threshold is met, the petition will then be presented to the Speaker of the legislature. Lukaszuk said the premier would then face two options: allow MLAs to vote on the question about wanting to stay in Canada, or leave it to a referendum.

“If this question passes, which I have no doubt in my mind that it would, this would be the end of this conversation,” he said. “No more division, no more talk about separation, and our provincial government can focus on things that I think matter more to Albertans than talking about separation.”

I think I have to question the naivety of that last bit. Like, you've been a politician in Alberta for a long time, and you can still claim to know how these jackasses will move forward, in a way that is opposite to everything we know about them? Come on Tom, you sound like you just fell off the turnip truck.

Anyway, good job to everyone who worked hard on humiliating our premier with this. Solid work.

Oh, he's not really assuming Danielle Smith will do the right thing. They're already thinking about the campaigning needed if the UCP does go the referendum route.

There was a nice lady freezing on the sidewalk with a table and a place to sign down the block from our polling station today. Was happy to put my signature there.

We had a group in my hometown on election day. I put on t Canada jersey and gave them a huge thumbs up, I already signed. As I stood in line I did have a few people looking at me like the anti christ. The icing on the cake is that the complete loon Alberta separatist councillor got minimal support.

I'd like to see them keep collecting until the last day.

It would be nice if the 300,000 number was blown out of the park
