They just need to do the little things right. It’s all in the Execution.

He sure is, reminds me a lot of Bennett, with the coaches poor utilization.

It's easier to fire a coach than it is to hold players accountable. Maybe it's time to admit we have to give our young guns time to develop and live through the growing pains.

Smrt and totally realistic plan
I’d rather sink with a younger player, than two old players down the middle. It’s not like we’re going to win anything with those two old centres.

you missed the part about bad trades...there is no trade to be made right now. If Zary wants more ice he should play better

Hmmmmm

Huberdeau Kadri Coronato
Gridin Frost Zary
Honzek Backlund Coleman
Farabee Pospisil Klapka
Lomberg
Kirkland

Weegar Parekh
Bahl Andersson
Kuznetsov Pachal
Hanley

Wolf
Cooley

Guess we’d have to put someone on waivers to do it? Sharangovich and Bean.

Anyway. Just spitballing. Their roster is so messy. They really need a trade or two to clean it up.

It’s really a shame that Parekh can’t play on the Wranglers this year. He’s too good for junior but I’m not convinced he’s NHL ready quite yet.

The Flames are in a tough spot with him and I think they’re handling it as best they can.

He will look better when they aren't playing the best teams in the league every night. Vegas without Stone made Carolina look bad

Put him in a chance to succeed and he might just do that.

A Gridin-Frost-Zary line would likely be a disaster and exactly what the Flames don't need from a development standpoint. They'd be in their own zone the whole time at 5v5.

I would be sticking Zary with Backlund until he figures it out. But I also wouldn't rule out giving him a few games off.

I saw Parekh skate from his own end to the o zone hash marks pull up and ring the puck around the perimeter

He is … coachable

Obviously yeah, but why would you re-sign a coach for a multi year deal, when he's not even proven, I'm sure a non-proven coach like Huska, is fine coaching in the NHL with a 1 year deal.

The game is more than 5v5 though.

In all situations for the entire game, the expected goals were 43%.

Anyone who actually watched the game could see Wolf made the much tougher saves overall.

The Flames had mostly perimeter shots, and any scoring chance they did have was Farabee who couldn't score on a shooter tutor...

And those stats don’t actually mean anything if they don’t actually turn into goals.

Damn the Flames wrecked it being a perfect day for sports. Wolf was great and improved his stats at least.

Best game of the year so far but can’t score and untimely mistakes. Kadri’s age is showing and Farabee will never score again. Huberdeau could have 6 assists this season with better linemates.

Parekh is wasted with a partner like Bean. I get sheltering Zayne on the 3rd pairing but maybe Conroy should have signed a vet to a 1 year deal as a mentor instead of putting him with a bubble player.

My Disney+ description of the game says “The world’s best players face off for the chance to lift the greatest trophy in sports, the Stanley Cup.” Yeah I don’t think the Flames have many of the best players or any chance at the cup.

I do wish the team could play more youngsters, two issues with that philosophy, some of the prospects are not ready, it could actually hinder their development to play in the NHL. The other issue is salary cap floor, if the team starts trading vets away, it is usually dollar for dollar, and even if you could just trade for prospects, you still need to get to the floor.

Having said that, Coleman and Andersson should be jettisoned, retain salary on Coleman if you have to.

I don't see them trading away Kadri

What a frustrating team. Also give Parekh MORE ICE TIME. Don’t wait for the other D to yield the go ahead goals and bring him on in the last 5 mins.
Try playing him 20 mins and on PP1. This isn’t rocket science dumbasses
But we need to squeeze an extra 3rd out of the Rasmus Andersson trade.

Seems to be a theme so far this year. Ice time for some players. No trades to help with that this summer.

Klapka - 9 mins
Honzek - 9 mins
Zary - 13 mins
Parekh - 14 mins

This isn't going to work
