Big update just now. Gondek is finished while Farkas opens a slight lead over Sharp.

Good to see Jeromy take more of a sizeable lead. Not that I'm his biggest fan but given the alternative ...

#### noght for progressives.
It seems the UCP move to have political parties worked as they expected.

Calgary is filled with emotional conservatives. Tell them policy they vote center to center left. Tell them colour they vote blue.

Does anyone really think we have a really conservative city council in this last several terms? Or have they been mostly center, center left. I just haven't seen city council as the basket of conservative policy that people think.

Did it though?
A Better Calgary is leading in ZERO wards.
Communities First is leading in 3 with 2 of those incumbants.
Too bad Dan Mclean is going to get re-elected.
or was this a whoosh by me? lol

Tough to choose the lesser of two evils. None of the options were very desirable.
Farkas changed, a lot. We'll see how things go.

If Sonya loses, I wonder if Jeff Davison staying in the race caused that by vote splitting

No, I think you have it right... based on the results standing as of now I think the general ideological make-up of council doesn't look a whole lot different. Why would people re-elect Wyness? Seriously, she was the 2nd dimmest member of council behind Chu. Looked lost at council meetings.
