It's early, but I've been really liking Caleb Malhotra (Brantford Bulldogs)
Haven't watched him yet, but he's already being hailed as a very mature player with a detailed defensive game, sky-high motor, and robust physicality. He is 5th in OHL scoring, with 9 points in just 5 games.
I love him already.

Not surprised, another kid groomed from his NHL dad to play an up-tempo 200 foot game, He'll probably loose some ice time now that O'brien was returned but he's a player to keep an eye on.
Another kid on Brantford to watch is Aiden O'Donnell also from a hockey family. He could rise this year as well.

Strange, I was just reading about O'Donnell. He's the next kid from Cole Harbour, NS.
I do feel like people are sleeping on Viggo Bjorck still.
4pts in 9games in the mens SHL this year already as a 17 year old.
His last full junior season he put up 98pts in 36 games as a 15 year old, breaking single season records across the board.
I've watched a ton of this kids highlights and I'd argue if he came up through the N.A system he'd be a lock for a top 3 pick.
The knock has always been size (5'10 currently) and some say his footspeed isn't elite. However I'd argue he's probably the most cerebral kid I've watched coming out of Sweden in decades.
He's that got RHS which seems like a unicorn thing these days, and his release/shot are easily his best asset.
This is who I am hoping we draft. This kid is special and he is a RS C.

Holy crap- JP Hurlbert leads the WHL with an eye-popping 9 goals and 14 points in just 5 games!!
up to 20 in 8. Really seems like someone who bucked the trend of talent flow into the NCAA, being an american from the NTDP and choosing to play in Kamloops...
He's probably boosted based on the lesser competition level, but hard to argue its a bad strategy. If he keeps the numbers going he's going to rocket up the draft ranking.

Isn't Cole Harbour just a very wealthy suburb of Halifax?
Nope, it's actually more of a burb of Dartmouth, very middle class, early on it was built up from a farming community because of the nearby naval aviation base Shearwater (now air force base)

I love that tankathon.com has the Flames as the top seed right now.
Read your post and went to try it out...
Ottawa got 1st and LA got 2nd. Just helps cement my thoughts that no matter where the Flames finish, two other teams will win the lottery.
Here's my question though. Would Ottawa even be included in the lottery if they finished that low? If so, what if they win 1st pick? Is Gavin McKenna technically the 2nd Overall pick? Maybe he's the 1st overall pick but no team is picking so he goes off into the void?
I asked they the other day and I think Freeway or Sureloss says their pick would just be skipped and everyone behind moves up 1
The Flames would draft 2nd but it would still be called the third pick
It’s early but yeesh it’s going to be a stressful season for sens fans

When Arizona forfeited their 2021 1st pick (11th OA) as punishment for physically testing draft prospects outside of the combine, the NHL announced there would be a redraw if Arizona won the draft lottery.
** NHL announced forfeiture of Arizona Coyotes’ 1st-round pick in 2021 NHL Draft in sanctions announced Aug. 26, 2020. Arizona being selected in either Lottery Draw will result in a re-draw.
I would assume it be the same case if Ottawa would win the lottery.
