Fixing the dump smell? Isn't the smell part of the appeal of living down there?!
It used to be an occasional thing that sucked, but was easily lived through. As soon as the compost facility was operating for awhile, it got REAL bad for awhile. Glad to hear they are actually taking it seriously.
Living this close, you can accept a few days a year, but it was nearing daily at one point.
Anyone have knowledge of Devin Elkin in Ward 14? Leaning towards him, but just want to know if I'm missing anything.
Here was my take on him when I wrote about all the Ward 14 candidates in this thread:
Devin Elkin Pros: Independent, has experience in politics and council Cons: Worked for Demong so probably shares all his views, isn't critical of his boss at all, wants to further complicate council hearings A Quote: "Having strong personal relationships with current MLA for Calgary Fish Creek, Minister Myles McDougal and Calgary Shaw MLA Minister Rebecca Schultz" (emphasis mine )
There's also this bizarre confrontation with Demong at the Ward 14 debate about Elkin using Demong's mail list to send an endorsement via Elkin's campaign email:

I really enjoyed the CBC debate last night because the mod let the candidates really go at each other. Some nice one-liners there.
Thiessen was really impressive too.
I'm torn between a strategic vote for Gondek to keep Farkas/Sharp out (tbh, keeping Sharp out concerns me more than keeping Farkas out) or voting Thiessen who is my #1. I hope we get one last poll that shows a surge for him.
