Only because I am having surgery tomorrow and been doing prep work before hand.
I am glad that I was wrong. I am glad they returned to the things that made them successful all season. Hopefully they keep it up.

Crazy idea - would they think about using Bassitt as an opener for game 6 and then go to Yesavage in the 3rd or 4th?
Bassitt is a vet who pitches well at home. Hopefully the team could give the kid a lead and he can come in and contrasts very starkly against Bassitt’s stuff and demeanour.

Man, what a team! Absolutely loved the whole Scherzer-Schneider mound incident and then George imitating Scherzer in the dugout after lol. What a clutch performance by Max. That pick off by him with Raleigh up to bat. That's the good stuff.

Had to leave halfway through the game. Got home, read the rest of this thread and then went and found the Barger highlight (running error).
I can’t believe how harsh everyone was on him. From his perspective and where he was standing it’s pretty hard to pick up the speed of the ball and how close it was to the pitcher. He certainly isn’t watching IKF to see if he’s waving his arms at him (that never happens).
He’s also a rookie. Sheesh. Cut him some slack. He’s playing in damn game 4 of the ALCS, had a huge night defensively, a double, and has already hit two homers this post season.
He belongs low in the order and he belongs in RF (not 3B). But that was not some unforgivable baserunning mistake it’s been made out to be. It’s fairly forgivable in my eyes.
Edit: sorry, he has 1 homer. I’m thinking of the clinch game against the Rays

Schenider said they if pitchers are dealing he trust them over stats. Sounds good tonight but interesting given he hasn’t let vets usually work through bumps at all.
And in his presser, Max doesn’t seem too impressed with Schenider coming out since he now has heard he wasn’t going to really take him out. “I think it was kind of a mind game to get me going, who knows”. Reporter: Did it work? Max: Shrug of shoulders, and with a hint of annoyance “well we got the result, so…”
I don’t think Max needs anyone to pump him up at any time certainly in a critical game in an LCS, so I think he’s not sure why Schneider even came out.

Exactly. The hit was directly towards the pitcher - and Barger. Determining how hard it was hit, and thus how quickly the ball was going to get to the pitcher, would have been very difficult.
Most importantly, there was none out, and incorrectly breaking for 3rd, if it in fact had been hit to the pitcher, would have been a HUGE error. With none out, you don't break for 3rd unless you're sure.
It never ceases to amaze me how critical people can be. Unjustifiably.

Same here.
I was on vacation for games 1 and 2 of the Yankees series so was following but not watching full games. Watched all of game 3 and they lost. Game 4 was a bit hit and miss watching and they won.
Watched game 1 and 2 of this series and they lost. Made a point of not watching game 3 and 4 and they've won.
So now I can't watch another game this post season.

That was such a fun game to watch. Classic Scherzer, contributions from all over the lineup, hopefully they can find a way to keep this rolling tomorrow. Go Jays!
