Do you mean to trade him to the "contending" team?

I'm willing to tough out a really bad season or two for a solid chance at McKenna or DuPont. It sucks that the entertainment value is so bad, but the losses themselves don't bother me so much. Just beat the Oilers 3 more times this season, that's all I ask for.

I think we are being entertained and losing… it’s a good combination. Boys are Vegas bound. Full send…

Watching the Flames forwards trying to score is like watching my mens team try to score.

Borderline hopeless

I would be very happy if the Flames lose 3-2 many games to keep them in bottom 3 whole season.

Things I like about this team:
  • Young players making an impact
  • Solid vets in Backlund and Coleman guiding the youth (love having Honzek on that line)
  • This team GAF. They stick up for one another.
It is just a tough schedule for a rebuilding team to come out of the gates strong with. It certainly seems that by the time the schedule eases up, there isn't really much to play for left. If that happens, this team will switch off pretty quick I think.

Last season I think things just snowballed with that easy start. If they keep losing, that effort is going to disappear by November. I don't think this team has the horses to play catch up in the standings if they accumulate more losses than wins in the remaining games for October starting with what feels like an automatic loss in Vegas on Saturday.

2nd last in the standings right now. Remove Andersson in a trade, and replace him with Bean full time, and I don't think this gets better (and I don't dislike Bean like many on this forum seem to). It is what it is. Focus on the young kids developing, focus on following draft eligible prospects this year, etc. Enjoy the wins when they come - there will be wins. It is what it is. if the Flames manage to bounce back up the standings and prove me wrong, great. Hope they manage to make the playoffs. If not, well, focus on the positives, savour every win, and just enjoy watching young talent develop in front of your eyes.

The inability to gain the zone the first minute of that PP… good god, that was painful to watch

They need to put Parekh on PP1. That’s where he shines. So much better than the other stone hands they throw out there.

This is a "buy a draft guide and know the names of all the prospects who might go top 5" kind of season

I agree. Honestly this is the best possible scenario for a team that will lose a lot.

They aren't losers like the Sabres.

They fight for the games and for each other, they just cant overcome the lack of finishing ability and thats okay.

Give the youth long leashes, and get Gridin back in ASAP.

Boy I hope San Jose and Chicago take steps this year. Give us a fighting chance.

Listening to the post game on 960.

People saying Cooley should get 3 games before they decide whether to turf him.

Funny how the rest of the players don’t get the same standard. The team is averaging less than 2 GF per game.

I think there are a number of other players that should be turfed before Cooley is.

They're not backup goalies. There's only one spot and they need someone they can rely on when they have to rest Wolf.

Play like he did tonight and he'll be ok. I think 3 games is fair to atleast get an idea of what he can bring.

Wow that 2nd period was a disaster. Not going to be a fun season only scoring a goal or two a game. Need Huberdeau back soon.

Cooley was good at least and they somehow still could have won if not for that horrible give away.

Overall, it was a great game for the tank!

I still don't get sitting Gridin. What exactly do players like Sharangovich, Kirkland, and Farabee do well? Sure, Farabee tries and blocks shots, but he's pretty much your typical 3rd liner who you can replace with anyone else in the league.

Also, Kadri is washed and we should have asked him to waive his NTC last year. Big mistake to keep him.

Happy we lost though, big 2 points!
