I personally would have left them both in, but i'm not sure either decision had a right or a wrong answer there, just different philosophy. I get what Schneider was thinking.

Think the issue is more of what options he has to use in that situation, and less about his decision making process. I just don't see Varland as a high leverage guy.

Side note - Eduard(o) Bazardo is a hilarious name. And I hope he gives up a monster game winning HR in this series.

Yesavage faced 20 batters in Game 2, once Arozarena (the 19th batter) singled, that was it.

Apparently Yesavage’s velocity was significantly down at the end, so it may in fact have been time.

It's all the offense, for me. 3,4,5,6 hitters are something like 1-27 this series.

The 3-run bombs yesterday were ones the Jays were hitting against the Yankees. The AB with Vladdy up at 3-3 and runners on the corner? That's maybe the ball game in hindsight. He does what Polanco did and they're in great shape.

I fear the Jays maybe looked (offensively) as good as they can possibly look against the Yankees, but what we're seeing now is what we saw for lengthy stretches during the season when Vladdy wasn't at his best.

He scares me because you don't know what you're going to get. And when he's bad it happens at the worst times.

I could have lived with him him giving up a single and trailing 4-3 but he just had to give up another homerun.

Reminds me of Nate Pearson - throws gas, but somehow hitters see it easier than other hard throwers and are able to hit.

If they can't hit I might as well be pitching because it doesn't matter

Offense, starting pitching, bullpen, everything just fell apart here in the ALCS for the Jays

So Bieber kind of sucks in the playoffs.

Bieber pitching scared today. Pitching way out, getting behind then forcing himself to pitch right down the middle to get back in counts.

What happened to this team’s mojo?

Looks like a totally different team. Just lost. It’s so weird.

This just has the feeling that the series is over although it's 1 inning into Game 3.

Jays bats are ice cold and inspire no confidence.

Meanwhile Mariners top of the lineup are always dangerous and getting the hits they need.

Bluejays may be right about a sweep, but for the Mariners instead.
