This signing makes no sense. They already have little space as is, and now this forces them to send down players and continue shuffling something that didn't need to be shuffled.

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you think about it. Carolina wasn't too keen on retaining him, and look at their center depth. While you look at their center depth, have a glance at GP in the playoffs - I believe Roslovic was a healthy scratch in the playoffs, no? That probably tells you all you need to know. I bet that by December, Oilers fans will be complaining about him.

Instead of signing, trading for or developing high character players that can play a 200ft game (Coleman, Backlund etc), the Oilers again some one dimensional bum that nobody else wanted and expect it to stir the drink.
Come on Oilers it's not this difficult. You are so no good it's sad at this point.

Looking at the Oilers depth at center:
McDavid
Draisaitl
Nugent-Hopkins
Henrique
Frederic.
I hope Draisaitl can learn to play wing so they can make room for Roslovic!

They always do this with Oiler signings...nobody wanted this guy including the team that just had him and is a legit cup contender

I think it's a 4 team trade list, so he can only be traded to 4 teams. Essentially giving Roslovic full control in case of a trade, but it still gives EDM the option to negotiate with more than only 1 team. This prevents a situation like Marchand or Tarasenko where they simply tell the team to trade them to FLA regardless of what they get back.

I read that the 4 team trade thing kicks in on November 1, when Hyman is due back.
I surmise that it means that the player is with the Oilers guaranteed until Hyman gets back, and then instead of sitting in the press box, the 4 team list gives the Oilers and the player an out. Maybe the Oilers get some asset back for the expense of signing him. I would imagine that all 4 teams are in the states, which gives roslovic a theoretically plausible reason to get out of stinktown.
Not sure why it was only 4 teams, but to each their own.
