Good time for a change of scenery if you're the Jays.

How many times already have people counted the Jays out this season?

I was there in person for both game (flew down yesterday morning, flying home right now!)

Still worth it. What an amazing ballpark.

It is an awesome ballpark and great experience to see the Jays in person. Glad you enjoyed it!

Did not like the Yesavage pull. That hit / error was not well hit but they make him walk Raleigh and pull him. That homer sunk the team

I lost my voice at the game cheering. The yes pull was universally not liked it seemed but that’s not what lost the game. They simply haven’t cashed in when they should have. There’s been an energy loss from the fans to the players that just doesn’t seem as much as the yanks. Before the playoffs started I thought the Mariners and Astros would be the team to give us problems. But after seeing these guys against Detroit I don’t think they would wake up. I still don’t see them as a threat and a comeback is totally possible. But they’re letting themselves down more than getting outplayed.

One team is going to win at least 2 out of 3 in Seattle. No reason why it can’t be the Jays.

Come on. They’re not even facing elimination, certainly a god of math would realize that while they’re behind, it’s far from the clock striking midnight. That would mean it is over and it certainly is not.

Well that sucks. In both games the offense was below average, in the second game the pitching got exposed. Just nothing going their way. This team has been out time and time again, but man the mariners look super right now and the jays not and the pitching match ups get worse before they get better again.

That's the hopeless feeling after dropping the first two. if it was just the Jays sucking that'd be one thing. But going up against a dialed in Mariners team is gonna a series win an absolute miracle at this point.

Mariners just have to win two of three at home. Does anyone know they've taken measures to keep tickets in the hands of Mariners fans and Blue Jays fans out as other teams have done in playoff series?

The Sky Dome (pre-reno) was easily the worst of the 4 MLB parks I’ve attended. Were the renovations a big success or is it all about the crowd atmosphere?

The renos have done wonders to the place. It’s still a big dome and always will be but there’s a lot more character there now.

Well they seemed dead in the ALDS in 2015 down 2-0 to the Rangers and Estrada turned in a big time performance to turn that series. Maybe Bieber can do that on Wednesday.

Sorry, their chance to turn things around was today, and they blew it bigtime. This team isn't coming back to win 2 of 3 in Seattle followed by 2 straight at home (Rogers Centre where home field advantage doesn't seem to mean anything vs the Mariners).

Jays pitching is too inconsistent to make this kind of comeback. The bats have also gone cold. It's over unless something miraculous happens. Possible but extremely unlikely.

Agreed. It’s a ballpark now. It will never be a traditional park but it’s uniquely “Toronto” and has a great vibe.

Mariners can’t get much better and the Jays can’t get much worse. But the opposite is true so there’s a chance. Swap a few clutch hits between the teams and the Jays can win a few. Not feeling like it at the moment though…

Surely someone with the self-selected name 'Mathgod' can be more precise than that, but I'll help you out on that one. If we assume a game between two teams deep in the playoffs is a 50/50 winning probability for either team then a team down 2-0 in a best of 7 has an 18.25% chance of winning.

Lived experience suggests the odds are not quite that good, with teams down 2-0 winning 16.1% of the time in nearly 100 samples. See: https://www.mlb.com/news/blue-jays-l...0-in-alcs-2025

That seems about right to me - any team that makes the CS is good at baseball so the probabilities should be close to 50/50, but if one team is up 2-0 maybe they're a bit better and they have a slightly better than 50% chance of winning the next games. Still, whether you use 18.25% or 16.1% I don't think "extremely unlikely" is the right descriptor.

Edited to add: polymarket has the Jays as an 18% chance of winning the AL right now, which suggests that my odds above are at least reasonable.
