How about the theme song from the Buckshot Show in the final sketch. That was a crazy blast from the past. I was watching with my daughter and had to youtube the opening to the Buckshot Show to prove it to her.
Any idea how I might find that video?
(The SNL one. Not the Buckshot one.)

so it turns out "the Kid from number 8" which was what that sketch was based on did share the same theme song as Buckshot
I thought the whole episode was weak. I continue to skip the political cold opens. South Park does a way better job parodying these clowns.
Doja Cat was alright. I'm not a huge fan but she's definitely got appeal.
Bad Bunny isn't a great actor but he's good at playing dumb. That only goes so far.
I was glad to see my favourite newcomers got into a couple of sketches, even though they were pretty straight roles. Kam is a dud. His claim to fame is showing a rock on Kill Tony, and I guess saying the N word. Not funny.
They don't have a black woman in the cast, but they did hire two amongst the seven new writers. Hopefully Jo Sunday gets a shot in a sketch.

Yeah, this new guy was awful when they brought him out on Weekend Update. He seems like a big downgrade from Devon Walker. He also sounded very much like Kenan in the way he talked and his cadence.
Weekend Update was passable except for the N-wors part and the only skit that was decent was the K-pop one and the AI commercial was borderline.
Really enjoyed last nights show. It had a 90’s/2000’s era vibe with the psychic sketch, the rudeman’s and the goth mom bit. Update was fun and it’s always awesome to see Tina Fey. The lawyer sketch was the best of the night - SNL and sketch comedy at its silliest.

"Dracu-Law" had me say "oh F*** off" at that pun but I really loved it.

Yeah, a few bright spots, but overall very meh IMO. The new cast appears very bland. I would imagine there are still a few slotted in and out in the next few seasons.
That episode sucked, right? I did like the fart sketch because I'm 6.
Wasn't great. I found the final sketch of the night amusing with the hundred Frankensteins. I'm not the biggest fan of Sabrina Carpenter's music but I like the presentation in her musical acts, almost like mini-sketches with music.
Also, her acting performance was good. This was more on the writers.
I think it'll be a few years before SNL is hitting a decent stride again. When you go from a cast that looks like this:
To this:
In 3ish years, you lose a lot of different looking characters IMO. That plus since 2022 they've lost Redd, Bryant, Mackinnon, Strong, Mooney, Moffat, Davidson, Villasenor... it's been a big turnover. It'll take a while and a few different cycles of people before you hit that sort of group again. I'm sure Thompson will be leaving soon, at least in front of the camera (Although it seems like he can just walk into any sketch he wants for a few seconds, collect his cheque and not do much else. Which is totally fine).
I'm also surprised that Marshall is a "featured player" and not full cast. The guy has been on the show forever already. Just give him full cast. I feel like Slowikowska was brought in specifically to play Melania (although she does appear to be the best of the new people IMO). I also think Patterson is brought in off his popularity with Kill Tony, but I've never found him very funny.
For better or worse I'm always an enjoyer of SNL and respect the effort the show requires to put together even when it's bad. But I recognize we're probably in for a good lull here. Just seem to be some strange decisions being made IMO.
I don't blame the new cast at all. Like I've said, I was a fan of a few of them before they got hired so I know they can do the job. I think Veronika did a great job singing with Sabrina in the washing machine sketch, which was one of the better ones of the night.
I like some of the new writers too. Nobody is funnier than Carl Tart. I don't know what's wrong. It's probably me. lol
