A very good effort for it being a 3rd game in less than 4.

This team will be fine as long as they don't fall too far out of it by the end of this month.

Which for a number of reasons wouldn't be a terrible thing.

But it hasn’t been bad except for the first period in game 1.

Not that you’d know from the histrionics around here

The effort was good. The lack of finish was not.

Play like that but convert on more chances and they win more than they lose.

Honestly, not a bad effort. I'm really impressed by our young players. Gridin, Parekh, Coronato etc. Play them more.

Losses are much easier to swallow if they put in an effort like that.
And get Gridin on the PP

Default Blues 4 Flames 2

Gridin definitely needs to be inserted on the PP and it will help when both Huby and Popsicle are healthy and back in game shape.

The effort was there but the finish was not. Should have been up 2-3 goals in the second period had we finished off our chances.

As I stated in the GT, Farabee was a beast tonight.

I thought him and Frost were our best players today.

Flames got out goaltended today and didn't finish their chances.

In the end nothing might be different but I do wonder if we see a better Wolf today if it wasn't his third game in 66 hours.

Still think it was unneccessary to play him B2B in the Canucks game

Blues could be the worst team in the league and the Flames could be in a President's Trophy spot and they'd still find a way to lose against St Louis. They're a cursed ass team.

Well I showed a bunch of Kipper data that should have dispensed with that old wives tale style belief that people have about back to back starts. *sigh*

Those 2 tips … a ‘better’ Wolf doesn’t stop those.

That’s the whole point of tipping pucks. Goalies set for the shot. They can’t react in time to a tip that ends up well placed

Hofer did not have to face those shots btw

Wow, it's pretty rare that after so many responses, it seems like everyone agrees. I agree with everyone - Flames controlled the play for most of the game and with more skill upfront, the result would have been different. Lack of finish did them in with all the chances generated. Wolf too with a below average game which means the Flames will lose more often than not. Some good, some bad from Parekh, which is expected. Gridin was good again. I thought Honzek was okay, but not great. On to the next one.

Was just reading this thread and thinking, wow it's so overwhelmingly positive for a PGT after a loss.

Assume the histrionics were elsewhere? I didn't see the game at all.

Good game from the Flames tonight. Weegar was terrible though.

Yeah, they were in the game thread

Those are never for the faint of heart though

Every goalie isn't the same and I'm not even against playing Wolf in back to backs.

It just felt unnecessary this early in the season, and there were some goals tonight that I think Wolf could have saved; same as against Vancouver.

I think it's fair to question the decision

The Flames lost coverage on the last two Blues' goals, making the tips easier to execute. Other than that, the Flames deserved the win.

I really thought Honzek was excellent, but like most of our forwards- he couldn't finish.

Huska really knows how to coach the most out of a mid line up. We were the better team, had more control, better chances, but are missing 1-2 elite, star forwards to win games like that (we'll still win some of them).

I agree. Overall I thought it was their best game
But it also shows how thin the line between winning and losing is for this group.
