This is great fun.
Watching these inept offenses play themselves into a never-ending game? Feeling good about the ALCS!

Yeah seems really stupid. Should be an automatic out if you try to bunt and it hits your hand, but instead you get rewarded.

OK I’m glad I’m not the only one cause I thought I was losing my mind there. And by the time I tuned in they only showed the close-up of the ball hitting the bat and then his fingers but to me it should’ve been a moot point because he offered up to the pitch which means by definition it can’t be a hit by pitch.

I hope the Jays are just turning off the TV and going to bed, this could go on forever with these offenses

He pulled the bat back so he didn't swing.
But it definitely hit the bat first.

I saw the bat move back slightly but it still broke the plane of the plate IMO.

I know the announcers are crowing over a great pitched game, and certainly Skubel had one, but it's become apparent by many here that it's more the offence not coming through, versus great pitching. The pitchers have thrown so many right down the middle and the terrible batters haven't contacted. Can't predict a sweep by the Jays but shouldn't be more than 5 games here.

Combined 0/11 from their 4 and 5 is awful
Both guys don’t even swing on strike 3

The bat broke the plane or the pitch?
Apparently whether or not the bat is over the plate is irrelevant, the batter has to actually make an attempt to hit the ball on a bunt for it to be considered a strike. I’ll be honest I didn’t know that. I thought you had to pull the bat back in time. But apparently you can just hold your bat over the plate and as long as you make no attempt to strike the ball it’s not considered offering at the pitch.
It looked to me like that ball was inside and he wasn’t making an attempt to hit the ball he was trying to pull the bat back.
So ignoring the fact that it hit the barrel first which makes it a terrible call it otherwise would’ve been a hit by pitch.

Tigers radio commentators have said that the team will fly directly to Toronto.
