The more I watch him the more I think he's just ready to bounce from here. He's looking more like a middle pairing guy and not one to be relied on as a #2 anywhere. I don't think we're going to get a good return for him. At this rate sell him to the highest bidder at the TDL and let them figure out extending him.

I mean if you dont like his defensive game he doesn't provide a whole lot of offense, either. What are you seeing that requires us to give him his 30+ retirement contract that doesn't line up his prime years with us contending at all?

Best case scenario we're competing 3-4 yeats from now and he's 34 or so and declining, while we're committed to a huge cap hit.

It would have to be low cap long term or high cap low term

I doubt he would do either, somebody will overpay

Interesting. So are you not watching him at all?

If you watched the game tonight, make me another Flame who was advocating more for his teammates

The refs made some real #### calls and he was very much representing the whole team. Not checked out at all

I feel like I’m living in some bizarro reality here, people see some things very interestingly

I think Andersson is getting bad advice from his agent, 50,49,39 and 31 pts the last 4 seasons, this is not a good trend.

Right shot or not teams aren't going to lineup with big offers and his reported contract ask seems to be bordering on ridiculous, if he was better on the PP I could see a slight raise but at this point he is what he's making, sadly I see him as one of those guys going to UFA and settling on small one year contracts and never getting a long term offer.

A smart agent would advise him to take somewhere around 3x6m from the Flames and try and get a larger deal at age 31 when the cap goes thru the roof.

If he wanted to take that little on a three-year deal, it would be done. Conroy couldn't get the contract in front of Ras quick enough. You are living in a fantasy land.

Walman getting 7x7 should set the floor for Rasmus contract.

More then I would pay, but some team will.

I don't think he's saying that was offered, he's just saying that would be a smart move for Ras at this point as he feels that Ras is overvaluing himself and is going to get burned because of it.

Or, a smart agent and player know the decline has started and are treading water to get as much money and term as possible right now.

If Ras was worth his contract demand, CC would have already signed him. We have lots of cap space, and when it comes to prospects the Flames have shown over and over they are a bird in hand versus bird in the bush team. Tehy always err on the side of the proven commodity.

LOL what are you talking about? Playing over 25 minutes per game of pretty low event hockey over the first two games out of necessity because Pachal, Hanley, and Bean have been terrible and Weegar can't stay out of the penalty box to start the season.

He can give a damn about sticking up for his teammates (which I LOVE), but he's someone who has dropped significantly in play. I really hope it's just beginning-of-season jitters, because I am really pulling for the guy. But to me it feels like he's checked out on an individual level. Never said anything about him not caring for his teammates.

If we're playing Andersson 25 minutes a night I don't think we are making the playoffs. That's just my opinion, unless we are going to rock with a Weegar / Andersson pairing, which I would advocate for. Have Bahl and Parekh as a pairing, or Bahl / Pachal and Hanley / Parekh.

Weegar going to LD allows us to not have Parekh on his off side.
