I have never seen a flames season opening lineup inspire less confidence. This might be the worst on paper flames team I’ve been alive to see.
With that said they’ll probably make the playoffs just to rub my nose in it, GFG

I thought last year was worse. Definitely more confidence in our goaltending this year even though we don't have a backup.
I still don't think they will make it but don't think they will be a bottom 5 team either. Although I would prefer either of those things than neither of them.

MMF is the tough as nails cop that "plays by his own rules". The force keeps suspending him when he crosses the line but he keeps coming back and then cracks a big case.

I’d say this year has much better goaltending, much worse defencemen and probably an equal forward group. Pretty close comparable IMO.
And Butler was one of my favourite flames at the time. Whenever he would screw up and the opposition would score my roommates and I would yell at the TV “The Butler did it!”
