I just mean the "team friendly signings" (McDavid) haven't included big term. Walman got 7 but it wasn't team friendly IMO.

I would do 6Mx7 but I highly doubt Ras would. There are going to be a lot of teams with a lot of cap this summer

Yeah it would have to be a heck of a home team discount, eh?

I wonder if that’s about what CC offered.

I would have a hard time going there. He's not going to age well and is already showing warts. Where is his game going to be at in 3 seasons when the team is on the upswing? It's less about AAV and more about having the slots available for Parekh, Mews, Bruz and possibly still Weegar.

Just because Bowman signed a 3rd pairing D man to a horrible deal doesn't mean anything.

From Foley On Hockey - Substack post fwiw as he breaks down prospect pools:
(formatting didn't translate well)

#22 - Vegas Golden Knights
Trevor Connelly, W, Grade: A+, Projection: High-End Top-Six Driver

A true dominator of possession. Excels at working the offense until golden chances open up. All-three-zones offensive ability. Needs to get by injuries.

Tuomas Uronen, W, Grade: B+, Projection: Middle-Six Grinder

A growing impact, brough speed to his bulk and began dominating transition last year. Hard to stop, hard to slow down, very confident in working with teammates.

Cameron Whitehead, G, Grade: B+, Projection: Solid NHL Backup

Big, square goalie who keeps his crease and doesn’t get beat.

Carl Lindbom, G, Grade: B+, Projection: Solid NHL Backup

Nifty mover for his size, great hands, matches shots well. Needs to work above mechanics to be in the NHL. I think he will.

Arttu Karki, D, Grade: B, Projection: Solid Bottom Four D

Beefy defender who handles the north-south game well. Great stick, hits hard, drives opponents out. Lots for an NHL team to work with.

Matyas Sapovaliv, C, Grade: B, Projection: Hopeful Third-Line Scorer

Big boy centerman improving his ability to play smooth and consistent. Great at moving the puck.

Ben Hemmerling, W, Grade: B, Projection: Bottom-Six C Rotation

Looked like a sharp, physical, responsible center in limited pro minutes.

Pavel Moysevich, G, Grade: B, Projection: High-Potential Third String G

Flashy athlete who beats opponents head-on. Reign in his movements and there’d be a lot of upside here.

Mathieu Cataford, W, Grade: B, Projection: Fourth-Line C

Shifty winger who doesn’t shy away from battles. Reliable all-around in depth roles.

Jakub Brabenec, W, Grade: B-, Projection: Reliable Bottom-Six

Opponents bounce off him as he drives the zone, finds teammates and reacts quickly to loose pucks.

Jakob Ihs Wozniak, C, Grade: B-, Projection: Fringe Third-Line C

I think he’s shamefully underselling Cataford and Ihs-Wozniak, IMO.

I love Ras as a warrior but Flamescshould asset manage trade him and get the young guys in. Flame away but we should get the kids in there more to learn at the nhl level. Over so many decades the team plays with guys who are getting results we likely would with young kids paired with vets.

Powerplay could use Parekh and the creativity and boldness.

Just my 5 cents

We have a lot of warm bodies; you could just as soon move out Bean or Hanley etc. The Hanafin trade wasnt great either. I don't like the idea of just giving away back-to-back top 4 dman and getting the rep of being a soft negotiating team but that's just me.

Flames need to trade Razz at the earliest they possibly can. It should have been done before the season started. But I mean it means nothing really, Conroy is going to do this his way and he will learn from it or won't.

In other words, you assume he is doing it wrong, but maybe the experience will cause him to become as good at his job as you would be. Got it.

I'm not assuming anything because the outcome isn't known yet.
Everyone and their cat thinks Rasmus should have been traded prior to the start of this season. That doesn't mean anything , yet.
