100%. He should never have even tried to catch that ball, that was the left fielders ball all day long.

It's not like his defense has been stellar today either....
It was the third inning. Jays had just gone up 6-1 thanks to Santander. 2 outs runner on 1st. Plenty of time to play the lefty matchup with Barge later in the game if required.

Because that pop up was a fly ball to left field. I think every 3b, especially shifted like he was, is expecting to have the lf take that ball.

What is with this Varland character and blowing into his fist?

Problem with Varland throwing 100 is if you run into one... it's gone

Addison Barger with a potential Buckner/Bartman moment.

Varland looked like he was turning the corner at the end of the regular season so this is a bummer.

Ok, now they're losing.

I think i need to start doing something else in the yankees half of the innings watching the jays pitch the last game and a half is too tough. Man Barger must want to climb into a hole feels like he may have just turned the series and then he takes an AB that looks like a highschooler

Normally this wouldn't feel so daunting but it being a bullpen game tomorrow makes this very scary.

Leaving both Bassit and Scherzer off the roster was a choice...

Well this really started last game when the bullpen limped the game home.

The errors stand out but the pitching really let them down today.

They need a long reliever. I was really hoping one of the starters cut could’ve been it but perhaps we’ll see it the next series once we get past the Yanks.
