A lot of 'Hawk fans were hoping that Teuvo would stay wil Bedard, to give him a steady vet with a solid defensive presence. But, if Nazar get that support, instead, it is about the same.

Donato had a freak offensive year, last year, and got some cash thrown at him. They are willing him into being a 1st liner.

Ethan Del Mastro is a cool name.

If he had any potential to become a great hockey player, he could then become Ethan Del Maestro.

Will be lucky to peak as a 2nd pair guy.

Bedard was his best at 18 like 18 yrs old Sam Bennett

Until they trade him to someone that knows how to use him

Very poor roster construction has slowed his development, almost to the point of ruining him.

Good period by the Hawks to stabilize and very crucially stem the bleeding that happened to them in the 1st period.

Hope their 3rd period can be similar to their 2nd.

Well, that was quite the play. Very good finish by Boqvist.

Boqvist got behind Bertuzzi, and bunted that in.

Marchand on offense vs Burakovsky trying to play defenseman. A bad combination for the Hawks.

I am encouraged that my guys did improve after the 1st. A road opener against the defending champs, and it was competitive by the end.

Positives (for my guys):

Knight seemed very solid, behind a weak D.
The 'Hawks generated some chances off the rush

Negatives:

Getting hemmed in.
No threat on PP
Confused D coverage

Not going to despair after game 1, but, do recognize that my team is not up to the top teams' standard.

It's the Panthers but the Hawks defense was turning the puck over left and right. Spencer was excellent but he will break at some point like any other goalie if this is the way they play.

Looked like the Hawks were playing hang on. But, they also showed some signs that they can steal some points this year. Which would be a net positive improvement given they're pretty thin on roster talent surrounding Bedard, Knight and Levshinov.

Harry Brunicke with a penalty on his first shift in the NHL by a lshameful dive from Adam Fox. Absolutely insane seeing a kid you watched grow up from timbits to midget play on PP1 with Sid. Glenlake Hockey!!

I do not like Adam Fox. Something about him.

Kindel has looked solid for the Pens. Just 18 and is playing like a vet. Going to the right places and making smart plays with the puck.

But the game itself is brutal. Extremely low event hockey. 1-0 flatters these teams in terms of scoring. Tough for one of the season openers - likely just two teams still getting back in sync.
