What a beautiful October 1st for golf. Played willow park and shot 79 today (3 holes turned to par 3s due to construction)

A walkable, tight course. Close tee boxes, no extra long walks other than the golf. So likely pretty similar to your course.
I walk when I can but it's a lot longer walk from one rough to the other rough and back again.

Seriously I don't think there's a course in or around the city I wouldn't walk. Maybe Glen Eagles but I haven't played there in many many years so I can't remember it eactly. Glencoe, River Spirit, Wintergreen, Calgary Golf & CC are all pretty tough to walk. But doable.

I wouldn’t call any of those pretty tough to walk. All of them basically have 2 hills and pretty flat otherwise.

GlenEagles is a brutal walk, especially with a tour bag strapped to your back for four consecutive days.

Front nine of Springbank Links would be a tough walk.

I was more referring to the list he mentioned after that one. Gleneagles is tougher but it’s not bad if you are in half decent shape.

I don’t carry I push so probably easier!

Turned out to be a great day for a round of golf. Have rounds booked from Wednesday to Friday. Then it's golf withdrawals until the start of next season.

They are pretty massive hills, both between holes and also on the holes themselves. CGCC starts you off pretty much vertical. 10 is the same.

Next season? We already climb up to 8 and 9 degrees after the cold few days Sunday through Tuesday. And it's supposed to be an above average fall. We could easily be back into 10 - 15 degrees late October/early November.

Problem is finding courses that are open. Speargrass normally stays open a week or 2 after thanksgiving but they are closing on the 13th this year.

There’s a cart to haul you up though

The funicular isn't working right now, and I've heard it's going to cost a couple of million to bring it back to working order.

Yah I meant a golf cart. We always get zipped up by the starter or back shop guy.

Played the final round of the year today. Made 3 birdies but short game & putting was a mess as I haven't touched a club in a month.

36 18-hole round and 12 9-hole rounds this year. Most rounds since 2015 when I still worked at a golf course. Best round this year was 83 (four times).

Handicap took a beating this year but I attribute that to getting used to the greens at a new place. Sitting at a 13.8 index to finish the year.

I shot 83 yesterday; best round since February when I shot 82 & 83. For some reason, I sucked all Spring & Summer.
Sitting at 15.7 but still get to play all winter!
