Not just the New York media. You're seeing some national level guys imply that something was going on.
With all the technology teams have now for working on match-ups vs pitchers before they play them, I don't understand how it is that shocking that a team with 6 days off was prepped and ready for their opposition. We'll never know, but I would not have been shocked if the Jays tee'd off on Crochet if they had matched up vs the Red Sox.
This is a team that has spent the entire year just making contact with the ball and people are acting like it's a shock that with prep time they're making good contact with the ball.

They still won't sweep the Rays.

Yeah, not entirely true. Some showed up but just not the whole team.

The Jays hit well against Fried, Warren, Gil, Blackburn, Weaver, and Cruz. One of them might be tipping their pitches but not all of them. It seems far more likely that the Jays bats had a good read on the Yankees pitchers than the type of co-ordinated (and potentially illegal) effort that would be required to steal signs from all of them.

Here are all the records the Jays set over the weekend. Any I’ve missed?
-Yesavage most strikeouts by a Blue Jay in a post season game.
-Vladdy first ever Blue Jays post season grand slam.
-Jays team record for most home runs in a postseason game.
-MLB record for most consecutive runs in a postseason series.
-MLB record for most runs in 2 consecutive post season games.

The Blue Jays staff snuck into their clubhouse when they were away and spiked their water with sleeping pills so they were too lazy to workout.

Meh, the team workout thing is just story fodder. Whether a team works out together or not isn’t an indication of anything imo. The Yanks have always been a team of swagger, because of the NY ego. I’m sure they’re working on their own things where needed.

For those of you who might not be aware the Jays have The Trajekt Hitting Lab installed at home this year which I think gives them a huge Home-Field Advantage. It can simulate the delivery/spin of any pitcher. So are the Jays cheating I would argue no but it's helping them.
Note: From a quick search 26/30 teams are currently using this but I think it's probably helped the Jays the most this year.

I have a strange feeling Bieber will struggle but pulls through, and we hold our own against the Yanks regardless. I think this will be a "best BP wins" matchup.

Baseball is so weird... stealing the pitcher's grip and relaying it is not dirty but stealing the catcher's signals is somehow bad? Pick a lane.
I really hope the Jays bats stay hot. Rodon's strikeout rate is tailing off as he gets older and his FB is down to 94... he had a lot of Ks early season but later in the year he was pitching more to get bad contact so I think they can really light him up if they stay hot.
If you look at his bad outings he was also giving up 3-5 walks a game so I think staying patient in the box will be key, waiting for the right pitch and maybe even grabbing some free bases with the BB would be good.
Bieber only really got hit hard in one of his 7 starts but he also didn't really dominate after that first start and seems like he will give up a base an inning pretty consistently, just hope he scatters them enough to give the jays 5 or 6 quality innings.

I think Rodon is a good matchup for the Jays. Staying patient and making him pitch that 94 mph into the zone is key, take walks and make him throw hittable pitches.
I like getting the ball in play a lot vs the Yankees as well. Push them to make the plays defensively and I think there's a chance they crack under the pressure in an elimination game.
I think this will be a much closer game, hopefully the Jays can pull it off.
