Even though im sky high on him, Parekh does not look ready.
But I have faith he can get there. He looked like an impact player in his debut in game 82.
Hopefully a case of getting up to speed (thinking and playing speed). He's an intelligent kid though, so I trust him to adapt in time.

He can work on his elusiveness and defensive positioning in practice, and it'll go that much better for him when he hits the ice for a game.
This is a player who might be carrying a big load for this franchise for the next decade. It doesn't have to all happen on Day 1.

ZP level of physical development debate aside, I had a chat with my nephew about playing against those 2.
Apart from some hilarity regarding his first shift vs Mc 2Year, defending them came down to anticipation and smarts, not speed and physicality.
Time to rip the bandaid off with Zayne. He may get burned, but he’ll learn quick.

I think of that group only 2 (Schaefer and Misa) will stick beyond the 9 games.
Misa may not even stick beyond that.

Only 3 have played more than 4 games. That somehow includes a 7th rounder.

I think Sennecke, Catton, Dickinson, Connolly and Brandsegg-Nygard are going to start the year with their teams

I came to post something similar, a list of prospects who've made opening day rosters.
Very interesting to see some of these guys make it already! Including a few who people were quite down on in Cootes and Kindel.
I was very high on Brandsegg-Nygard going into the draft, he had the tools and toolbox already in place.

I was disappointed Andrew Cristall did not make the Caps as I know the family.

If they are sitting him because they are scared to play him 5 on 5 then why keep him up?

It's a #12 Iginla jersey that looks just like his dad when he's skating down the ice.

I will never, ever forget Vesa Viitakoski.
And put me down as another that won't be upset one iota if Zayne is scratched for the opener. Against the Oilers, on the road, they get last change. Yeah that could get ugly quick for his confidence. Think of the long game here, ease him in and see how he responds. Two 19 year olds on the roster to start the season is pretty awesome, though.

Guessing their plan is to shelter him for the first part of the season to see how he does. Offensive side is definitely not an issue. He is probably already our best offensive defenseman. I’m assuming they are worried about his 5 on 5 D. I am as well TBH. But you’re going to have to expose him at some point. You can’t hide him forever.
If it’s a disaster not sure what they do. It’s not like any of the other teams are going to be easier. You will eventually have to throw him into the fire. It’s just crappy that he can’t go to the AHL. Because junior would be a waste of time for him.
Will be interesting to watch this play out.

It’s going to be one of the most disgusting broadcasts that SN will ever put on anyways; the McDavid fellatio will be off the charts and the Oilers will probably destroy the Flames anyways.
I’m fine with Parekh not having to be associated with it.

... Jarmoe would have shot the puck.
and I'd rather have Inzayne.

Didn't have all of Gridin, Parekh, and Honzek making the opening day roster but I will gladly take it!

Excited to see Gridin with the lights fully on. He’s the one guy I really hope doesn’t get sent down. He’s better than half our wingers now. I’d like to see how much he can progress in 20 games.
I get the situations are different because Gridin can go down to the AHL. But he looks to be more prepared than Parekh to play at this level. It would be a shame if he got sent down over a bunch of our vets that he probably out performed
