Look how Coronato and Wolf were eased in, turned out pretty well even when people were impatient
Gaudreau was also benched early on i believe.

Gaudreau made the team, underperformed overa few games, got benched and then came back strong.

Yay! Good guys win! Happy for Matvei and for Huska/CC making the call to reward him.

That first game has a chance to be a real sh** show including because you have reduced opportunities to manage match-ups.
I don't mind Zayne being held out for that reason.

I was thinking some time after the Olympic break, but this week is fine too.

Hopefully in a few years time a Zayne Parekh #89 jersey will be coveted like the Iginla #24.

Who had the Flames holding two 19-year-olds on their opening night roster?

We likely see a call up then to be the extra forward. Morton? Honzek?

He'll make us forget everyone who ever wore 19 before him... except Hunter (and in Scorp's case, David Jones).

Tim Hunter forever!

Interesting they're giving Gridin his NHL number already.

I'm not convinced he's a Flame beyond 9 games. If he proves me wrong, great.

This is such an awesome story; both 2024 first-round picks are now in our main lineup. I totally thought Gridin would take several years to get here.

I hope both players absolutely tear it up this year, and are able to endure the full NHL schedule (moreso Gridin since he can be sent down, whereas Parekh can't). Specifically, seeing Gridin get 10+ goals and 20+ assists this year would be terrific to watch.

For anyone with a Tkachuk jersey and wants to do a name swap it's quite easy to remove stitching lol

I'm pretty happy they kept Gridin. Maybe it's only for the time Huberdeau is injured or whatever but he definitely earned a spot. Kids legit.

Sitting Zayne would be just fine for me. He should probably play situationally until the very evident hesitation in his game is starting to dissipate.

At this point, if he played 20 NHL from now until year end, that's still better than a whole year in Junior.
