Yeah, the whole thing is stupid. 27 of the 30 MLB teams have a better home record than an away record (and one of the ones that doesnt is the A's which is a weird situation).

And while the Blue Jays have a bigger disparity between home and away wins than most, it isn't an unreasonably big difference, and the Padres, Mets, Rangers and Pirates all have a larger difference between their home/road wins, and the Phillies have the same spread as the Jays. So that isn't even suggestive of cheating, imo.

I think it's mostly statistical noise and things like having your home batting cage equipment. I wouldnt be surprised if the teams with the biggest differences are the ones that most effectively use their home-only Trajekt pitching simulators.

It was the noise from the crowd that gave me shivers. Imagine if the roof was closed when he hit it.

Some of them are saying that. And they're saying they won't be able to do it in New York. lol

Cant believe I finally live in a time where a team I support is so good they are being accused of cheating. I used to pray for times like this

It's just sour grapes from Yankee fans who can't admit the Jays are the better team in the ALDS.

These Jays in 30 on Sportsnet are pretty awesome for those of us working the last couple of days and missed two amazing games. Watching Yesavage pitch a gem today was pretty unreal, even in a shortened version.

So jealous of you that made the trip and got to experience these games. Don't get to soak games like these in very often.

I just knew he was going to hit that grand slam...strange feeling I've had like 2 times in my sports watching life where I just knew something huge was about to happen for my team...usually I assume it won't happen.

I had to check the final score and the Vladdy GS this morning to make sure it wasn’t a mirage.

Such a fun game last night. I envy those that saw either game live.

Cheating or not getting 29 hits while striking out 7 total times over 2 games is a complete 180 from how most teams are playing Baseball these days in the post season. The Tigers have 10 hits and 26 strikeouts in their two games vs the Mariners. Yankees had 6 hits and 17 strikeouts in their first 14 1/3 innings until Yesavage came out of the game.

I had that feeling before Bautista's bat flip HR. And the other time, I would say was Game 6 OT against Detroit 2004.

Just looking into the future, it'll be interesting to see if Yesavage's arsenal can hold up after teams have seen him a few times and also have more video to go over.

Pretty exciting to think about having a legit 22 year old ace to build the rotation around for the next decade plus.

I've read that the Jays brass are almost as high on Stanifer as they are on Yesavage too, and he should be making his MLB debut next season.

I'm praying that Carney gifts Trump a Bluejays jersey when he meets him today

Teams will probably catch up a bit for sure. But I think he will be a really tough one to crack long term. The way his slider breaks arm side (and significantly), his high release point, his devastating splitter, and a decent fastball...the entire arsenal makes him a bit of a unicorn.

Excited to see how the league adjusts

Yesavage was a gem for sure, but my favourite individual pitch of the weekend was Varland with 2 strikes to Stanton with 2 out and the bases loaded in game 1.

He threw him a 101.8 mph fastball right down the middle.

"This is my best pitch, I dare you to hit it."

Narrator: "he couldn't"

Just a ballsy thing to do and it worked out great.

Not a Jays fan but holy ####. 23 runs in 2 playoff games?

God is finally punishing the Yankees.

Yesavage was great.

The thing with that split is it looks more like a split change, and he can locate it incredibly well. Don't need to look much further than Gausman to see a pretty great career can be carved out with essentially 2 pitches and a sometimes 3rd pitch look.

For Yesavage to profile as an ace, IMO a third pitch (is it the slider?) will be essential to keep hitters honest.
