Great start. Get Vlad going and take his and the team pressure off early. Gausman looks excellent. Yanks are making a lot of first pitch swings.

Tim Hill looks like he’s 52 and smokes a carton of Marlboros in a weekend.

He's busy solving cold case murders when he's not pitching...

Spoiler!

Gausman and Vladdy came to play today! Couldn't be much more pressure on the two of them, and they're stepping up about as well as you could possibly ask so far.

That's an unbelievably bad call considering what that ump called so far. Santander earned a walk.

Ok. I will give Santander credit for two long AB's. Missed a double by inches too.

The dynamics of the robo umps will be interesting. Hill would’ve challenged the pitch and lost.

The ump did a makeup call the next pitch. Jays would’ve challenged and won.
Would the ump have made that makeup call if validated on the first one that the Yanks challenged and lost?

Either way in this case Santander has to go into full defend swing mode and popped it up. Next year he would’ve walked or had a better pitch to hit.

Buck making a point a couple time to say how the Jays play better defense “than any other team in the playoffs”. A subtle adjustment to the call out of the Yanks a couple weeks ago.

Too early to say for sure, but this team so far looks like they actually feed off the pressure, as opposed to the past few post season teams that just buckled under it. Great pitching/defense and some solid ABs.

Yeah Boone, you might have wanted to run with Hill a little longer. You know, to save your bullpen.

Now Jays, get more runs so we won't have to be worried sick about Hoffman messing it up.

I actually like Boone as a manager. Seems to be a fun guy to annoy though.

Damn. Didn't look like Volpe hit it that hard. That thing just kept carrying.
