A big chunk of my Steam wishlist has big discounts for the Autumn sale. I'm trying to save money but 60-90% off is hard to resist.

Finally finished Assassins Creed: Shadows...2 days before Ghost of Yotei launches. Welp, back to late 16th/early 17th century Japan I go...

Loved the gameplay in Shadows, best-looking open world game I've ever played. And Naoe finally supplanted Unity's Arno as the smoothest-moving assassin in the series. Was not a fan of the non-linear storyline though. It killed the flow, making it quite forgettable.

Yeah, Naoe was a good character. I enjoyed large parts of Shadows, but yeah...largely, Ubisoft seemed to go out of their way to impede that games success with sloppy story telling.

Should have been focused on her. Should have spent more time fleshing out her story. That was the heart of the game. Splitting it off with dual protagonists did the story a disservice.

Enjoyed Shadows a good deal...but it has left me a bit tired on the open world structure, so Yotei is something I'll put off into next year before jumping back into a game like that. I want to give Yotei some time to breathe. I did the same with Tsushima, I bought it at launch but didn't get to it for a few months. I'll pick up Yotei in the winter or early spring, maybe even save $10 or something.

Yeah, that's fair. The big, beautiful open world lacked content too, there was no reason to ever leave the road and go exploring. Odd choice, given previous ACs weren't like that, and they did such a great job on the landscape. You'd think they'd want to show it off by having you explore it, but alas..

I'll probably wait for the 1st big update on Yotei, then get on it. I'd wait longer, but I need an open slate for whenever GTA VI finally drops this year; I don't trust the May 26th current release date, but we shall see...

I'm in the process of moving, so I won't get into Yotei at release either. Really looking forward to it though.

Yeah that's why Shadows took me so long too: I moved midway through playing it. Godspeed, sir

I tried the demo and they changed all the controls so it takes some getting used to. I do like that the soap isn't magic anymore. You need to spray it on and rinse it off.

Otherwise they didn't change too much. It wasn't broke so don't fix it.

Final Fantasy Tactics looks great, and the voice acting definitely takes it up a notch from the original. Now to have some free time to really dig into it again. I played the intro and first mission only last night, need to take some time to get familiar with the controls and interface again.

My game backlog is going to get large this fall. Too many games to play and not enough time.

Finished AC Mirage last night. Really enjoyed it. Although I loved the size and scale of Odyssey (which I consider the best AC game and top 3 open world game ever), it was nice that this was simplified down in almost all areas, yet was open world enough to explore and uncover at a leisurely pace. Story was good too. Hopefully Shadows will be up on Gamepass soon.

Totally agree about Odyssey being one of the best open world games ever.

The Last of Us 2 was released over five years ago. The Heretic Prophet doesn't even have a release date. Hurry up, Naughty Dog.

Picked up Odyssey, thanks for the recommendation. Finished Origins a couple months back and haven't played a game much since.

Origins and Odessey both had the 'soul' of an AC game. Huge fan of both.

Valhalla is huge and long and pretty interesting, but just not the same. I got bored of it.

I'm so pleased that for the first time since Ghost of Tsushima was released there's finally a game with comparable swordplay. Shame it has to be the sequel, but I'll take it. I'm only an hour into Yotei, but god did I ever miss proper swords.

But what about those Warhammer vehicles?

Gone through Hades 2. Mechanically fun and enjoyable. Don't really like the tonal shift in the story/ending though.

Still, more runs and upgrades to do.
