Nothing close that I’ve heard but it makes you wonder if there’s a swap including him with Anderson and other pieces

What is he without a legit #1C? Do we know? I don't watch him except when he is playing the Flames.
Unsigned Robby for unsigned Ras headline the deal, can we take some salaries and get some kids too? Or retain some $$$ on Coleman and send him for picks/youngsters. Let's make this a blockbuster!
Coleman creates a hole. To fill it, shift Flames wingers down a line after inserting Robby at the top. Not bad.
It makes too much sense. Probably won't happen.

The Sens have traded Zack MacEwen to the Devils for face-puncher Kurtis MacDermid.

Yea I don’t know.
He can generate his own offence, that’s for sure.
But he does benefit from playing a more skilled system, puck possession being key.
With our luck… I don’t even want to think about it!

Would rather not get a winger that’s going take opportunity away from players like Coronato, Zary and Gridin.

You talking about Robertson?!
Yeah who wants a 26 year old that is over PPG for his career and has had a 109 point season. This place is wild sometimes...none of those guys are even close to his skill and two of them aren't even much younger. And I love all three players.

It would be a very interesting move... but I would hope that they flip him right away to one of the C heavy teams (Sharks, Ducks, Blackhawks, etc). It could turn into quite the blockbuster then...
Trade 1: Robertson + Lyubushkin (2 year cap dump) <-> Andersson (retained) + Coleman (retained) + ??
Then move out Robertson for a young C.
I know in the summer when we suggested an Andersson++ trade to the Red Wings for Danielson the answer was "No, Yzerman loves Danielson too much". But to get a 40 goal scorer?
Or how about the Blackhawks? They have Bedard, Nazar, Moore, and Frondell. Would a C be available for Robertson as a top line winger?
How much would CP lower the value of Robertson once he was a Flame instead of a Star?

Is Hintz a legit #1C? Because Robertson did great playing with him. Hintz is definitely better than Kadri, but he's closer to Kadri than any of the top 10 C's in the NHL.

Kadri actually finished ahead of Hintz last year in the scoring race - same points but Kadri had more goals, although he played 6 more games.

The last 100+ point winger the Flames traded for didn't turn out as great. Without good C depth, wingers wont do as well. This team needs to build slowly and properly, adding wingers that excel in a system the Flames don't play will go poorly for them.
Robertson would be a great addition to a lot of teams but just doesn't make sense for the Flames. It would be like adding performance tires to a station wagon.

Hence why flipping him would be the way to go. The Stars need a top 4 RD and middle 6 LW. Andersson and Coleman can play those roles at a discounted rate. Although, if the Stars trade Robertson, Coleman would then be their #1LW. Yikes.
The Stars also need to unload Lyubushkin and the Flames could bury him, if needed, or hold him until another team has injuries and flip him too.
The trade is a good fit for the Stars, but not so much for the Flames.
However, if Robertson changes which teams want to trade a C to the Flames, then that is a win. I think Robertson could be close in value to most of the good C prospects that Conroy would be looking at and, if needed, a pick or prospect could be added to up the offer (but I doubt it would need to be a significant add).
