My guess is they want to send down Prosvetov for more work

Cooley is just going to be cut when they claim another goalie

Not super clear, but Renaud is generally very connected when it comes to Quebec-born players.

I hope you enjoyed last night!

Flames play an elite perimeter possession game with tons of low velocity lame ass shots.

Wolf cuts the goal difference in half, or better.

I was referring to the lines Wes Gilbertson posted. Not last night's lines. He suggested the mish mash of players would be the opening roster and while they may have much of a chance as any combinations, to suggest groups that haven't played as units once this preseason would open the season was eye brow raising as it was coming from a seasoned reporter.

I agree. Just saying that Huska did that to the lines last night too and it showed. Guys were discombobulated.

The effort was there but nothing was working. So then guys started doing their east west stuff or trying to do too much and having the play die.

There were only a few instances of direct simple Flames hockey, to my eye.

Seems like code talk for tanking.

McKenna would be nice.

With Kerins, not surprised at all

He is not a 4th line center, had no idea where the Flames would slot him into the lineup

He is more of, if Frost gets hurt type of a forward.

I'm stoked to see how it all plays out.
I have zero idea what’s going to happen this year after watching last night.

I’m preparing for a window of zero wins to hoisting the cup.

It will make jg13 happy to read this, but right now we don't have a Vladar caliber backup, so I would not count on the 82 pt pace w/o Wolf.

Worth remembering the Flames had more points than 2 teams that played playoff games and the same amount of points as another team that played a series.

I think we underestimate how scrappy they are despite it being on display right into the spring. Yet strangely, there is still a widely held belief that they're due to fall off a cliff.

If they were going to do that it was in the last 3 seasons, before they added the future superstar goaltender as their starter.

Little chance of it now.

I don't know what people are expecting this season. We do not have a playoff-calibre roster, although (quite annoyingly) we continue to have an "almost make it" or "squeak in and immediately get dusted" roster.

Note: In my mind, "playoff calibre" means "a playoff team that plays like it belongs there, and is capable of competing against other playoff teams" not "hope to squeak in and then see what happens."

I’m not convinced they even have an almost make it team

I'd say 1-in-7 chance they draft 1st.
