Crazy they let this go all the way to this point of the offseason. Had no idea and thought the extension would kick in next season!

Don't doubt the no trade thing at all. As for Parekh on the verge, he's 19. He's on the verge of making the team. I'm not advocating for Hamilton to return but I still think he's got several years of high quality hockey left and with three years on his contract it would be a perfect transition to Parekh over those years. Especially if Andersson is being moved.

Why wouldn’t you just keep Andersson?

Luke is really good. Devloping a touch slower than Quinn did (he's probably at the same pace as Jack though), but he's my favourite of the three.

(I comically (to me, at least) think of him as a step-Hughes, since he's a giant compared to the other two lol.)

To stay in Vancouver, yes. To join his brothers on the shore... not so much.

If Quinn Hughes walked into Rutherford's office on the first day of re-signing eligibility and said "8yx14M each year, paper it", they'd have a signed contract in under 5 minutes. Same for Makar. Both teams would jump at the chance to do that deal.

Odd how Hamilton can't stick anywhere. Thought he found a home in Carolina but they let him walk. NJ seems ready to move on, about the same amount of time he lasts everywhere.

Kovecevic and potentially Noesen will be on LTIR to start the season.

Fitz will see how the season goes and figure out who they need to move out when they get close to returning from IR.

Conroy can have a 4th for a 25% retained Palat if the cap space is burning a hole in his pocket.

Where does Luke rank on the Staal scale? He's gotta be the Mark out of the three of him, doesn't he? I mean, he's certainly above Jared level. I don't think he's Eric or Jordan material though.

That’s the thing about the Hughes brothers
They are all elite

I'd rather have Hamilton for 3 years than Andersson for 8+1.

Andersson has value as a rental for sure, I'm not sure the ability to sign him for multiple years is that much of a plus.

Hamilton, with only 3 years left, likely has some decent value.

I’m expecting a similar return to what Hanifin brought - a late first and a throw-in.
