…. How the #### does “politically correct” come up in that paragraph? Jesus Christ.

And I'm sure a coup where 70-90% of the military would support their God over their military superiors will be successful.

Oh I'm sorry did you think suggesting a literal military coup of the US government was a good idea worth discussing? Lot of meat on that bone for us to all pick at?

Yes it's totally insane lol. Eventually could it happen? Maybe, likely not, but we're years away from that being a possibility. Much as we paint America as on the verge of collapse, it's not even remotely close.

I'm no coup expert or anything, but how often do they happen in wealthy countries? Gotta be pretty rare.

Not happening... Especially when way more than half of those serving probably disagree with the positions/policies of the left at minimum if not all out Trump/MAGA supporters.

The hilarious thing I never said it would happen. I was refuting the fact that the military has no power to stop Trump.

I guess on a technicality you didn't directly use the word coup, but this is literally suggesting a coup lol

If this isn't a coup, I'd love to know what else you think this is.

Ya that is not necessarily a coup. All military members have the right and indeed the duty to disobey illegal orders. Their oath is to the Constitution and not the Commander in Chief. The lawfulness of an order would go to Court Martial and through the military justice system until it potentially was heard at SCOTUS. So it would not necessarily be a coup and almost certainly the orders that one would not follow (use of military force against civilians) are likely illegal. Their use of the military in domestic law enforcement is illegal unless authorized by Congress. The Commander in Chief has no legal authority to authorize it unless there is an insurrection.

So if you control the White House, the Senate, Congress and the Supreme Court the shut down is the fault of the other party.
Much like how I blame my farts on the dog I guess.

That looks like a reasonable suite of controls, right up until you consider the recent output from SCOTUS.
