Gridin is clearly going to be an upper roster NHL player. Not sure where that lands (elite top line winger vs 2nd line PP guy), but that 2024 draft could be top five all time for the team.

Wolf looked awesome last night. Shots were like 15-3 at one point and it had to be frustrating for Seattle.

PP with legit snipers like Matty and Gridin, QBed by Zayne, Zary and Bru. That's a tantalizing future!

I still have Morton over Kirkland.
It won't be long (if it's not already there) that Gridin, Suniev, and Honzek surpass Klapka on the depth chart. All three will start with the Wranglers, but Huska will be throwing banana peels at Klapka hoping to get a good look at one of those three at some point. Gridin, in the last two games, has moved to the top of that grouping. He looks like a real deal. He's bigger and stronger than I expected. The shootout shot was something, but even his first goal was a rocket.

I agree on Morton and think he makes it as the 14th forward. Miromanov is the casualty and they start with 7D

Funny how the Gridin pick went from "at least they got Basha in the second round so no damage done" to "MATVEI!"

The 2024 draft in general is starting to look like it'll be our Heiskanen/Roberts/Oettenger draft.

Zayne looks like a franchise player. Gridin looks like he could be a top line winger. And Basha/Battaglia/Mews all have skillsets that makes it look like they'll be contributors at the NHL level in the near future. Never mind Misa, Laing, and the others where we could still get a couple of NHLers out of that group too.

He shouldn't be playing more than 4th liner minutes. He gets very exposed the second he plays against top 4 dmen and good top lines.

He's an energy guy through and through. A bigger Walker Duehr.

For some reason that shootout goal reminded me of Kent Nilsson... tiny spot in the top corner quick and with accuracy.

As someone already said, give him #14.

I don’t pretend to be some scouting pro so I’m totally comfortable with the fact I might be wrong or missing something, but I just have not been impressed by Kerins any time I’ve watched him. I felt the same about Phillips when I watched him on the Wranglers, he’d end up getting a couple points and just look totally unimpressive doing it.

You pretend to be a pro on all sorts of topics, why sit this one out?

Don't remember that at all, people weren't sure who he was but once some reports and highlights poured in most were happy they went with a guy who had offensive upset. The most contentious part of the thread was was someone brought up Honzek lol

Great that Gridin is pushing in camp. I’m in no rush to have him starting with the Flames. Go prove you can do it in the AHL and if he does, all the more reason to move a guy like Coleman to free up a spot and recoup some assets.

I think Klapka might be just fine sonewhere in the middle-six as a Tomas Holmstrom-type- one who finishes plays by working in the paint, and harassing the goalie. He has to keep playing with that competitive fire, though- if he gets too complacent and takes his foot off the gas, that’s when he’s ineffective IMO.
