Wolf was dominant in front of a mostly AHL defence. No way the Flames finish bottom 10 with him in net.
Damn Gridin can shoot. Expect he’ll be on the big team soon.
Looking forward to the schedule changes next year. The preseason is too long and this should have been the last game.

I said it before so I'll say it again, Gridin is a total package, speed, skill, size and a crazy good shot, the big plus is he lives for playing hockey and always wants to get better.

I, and several others, had Gridin ranked #2 in our summer prospect polls, even ahead of Reschny. I hope you all understand why now...kid has legit top line potential.

I am happy to admit I was waaay off on my assessment of Matvei.
I wasn’t thrilled when we drafted him, I also thought he had an average year in the Q last year.
I was wrong.
He has top six written all over him, potentially top 3.
I only hope I am as wrong about Honzek as I was Gridin!

Its not just Gridins shot that impressed me (although of course it did!).
Kid was winning puck battles on the boards all night long against career NHLers and defensemen. Extending plays in the O zone and playing good defense on wing in the D zone.
That, above his shot, will get him on the roster asap.

I thought exactly this. It's one thing for kids to make some flashy plays when they have time and space. It's another for them to go to tough spots and win out (especially against vets). Kerins had a harder night basically because of this.

And honestly he already bounced back.
His 2nd half had him in the teams top 2 forwards after Kadri in points/60 five on five.

I thought Brz made a couple great passes. I thought Kerins was pretty bad though. He backchecked OK, but it was because he lost the puck.

Too many plays die on Klapka's stick
He's just not a top six player.
I still have Morton over Kirkland.

I don't see Kerins making this team.
I won't bring up stats for fear of 33 responses and 2 hours of my day going up in smoke, but if you ignore counting stats I don't think he's NHL ready.

For my money Suniev, Kerins, and Gridin deserve one more look.
Send everyone else to the minors.

He doesn't pass the eye test either. The guy is good in open ice, but just cannot win a contested puck. He loses all his 50/50 battles.

Gridin looked better than Catton last night.
Catton - #8 overall 2024 NHL draft
Gridin - #28 overall 2024 NHL draft
It's kind of shocking how good Gridin looks considering his draft position and how recent his draft was. Well done flames scouts.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Catton looks very tentative out there. Seen a few games of his this pre season and they looked the same.
Gridin the exact opposite.
