Cal Raleigh got to 60 home runs last night. Pretty good achievement for a switch hitting catcher...even if he is completely juiced up.
The Rockies unfortunately really screwed up after that great start. They won enough to avoid beating the 120 losses that the White Sox put up last year, but might still finish with 119. Looks like they could end up going 33-69 after that 10 and 50 start. That sweep against the Marlins really messed things up.
Last weekend of the season and the only thing in the AL is that the Mariners will get a bye along with the AL East winner. But none of the seeding is locked in. NL is a bit more set although the Phillies and Brewers could swap for the top seed, same with the Padres and Cubs for the 4-5 series, and the last WC isn't claimed yet as the Reds or Diamondbacks could overtake the Mets. But Reds are playing the Brewers, Snakes are playing the Padres and the Mets have the Marlins. So advantage Mets with the one game lead.

MLB is so weird with this.
There's not many people who will watch 4 consecutive games, and I'm sure they lose significant ratings on the early games by having them during the workday.
I suspect that also really annoys ticketholders. If I had seasons and the 3 playoff games were Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday at 1PM I'd definitely be annoyed.

The fact that they refuse to resend after the Wold Card round makes me shake my head. In many cases the 4 seed is better than the weakest Division winner...so let's just give the worst playoff team a break in round two if they beat the weakest Division winner.

I think it is because the schedule is so tight, they need to know where they are going Saturday.

I don't buy that.. It's not like they're trying to buy tickets on a Commercial flight, and the league can book enough rooms in each of the two host cities for whomever the visiting team is. There's two places that you might be going. So the 4th seed wins their series in 2 games and has to wait like 1 day for the result of game 3 in the 3-6 before they can make plans for their Friday travel? Bollocks I say. If you don't want to have two sets of travel plans...be better and be a top 2 seed!

The current format stacks the better teams onto one side of the bracket and leaves the other side wide open. It's absurd.
There are 4 teams that have to play in the WC round... of those teams, it should be that the one with the best record is declared the #3 seed, regardless of whether or not they are a division winner. That way you don't get a relatively weak team that won a crappy division playing the #6 seed, with the winner of that going on to play the #2 seed. Meanwhile the #1 seed is forced to play the best WC team. Yikes what a stupid format.
Simply give the #3 seed to the top WC team if their record is better than the weakest division winner. Problem solved and you don't have to reseed after the WC round.

Yeah. This year in the AL the #1, #2, and #4 teams are on the same side of the bracket.
Skubal just dominated the top 3 for the Guardians in the 1st inning. That 1 unearned run the Tigers got top first might be enough if he pitches like that.
