Do we think 5-6 days is enough for Bichette to return? Or will it be a Game 3/4 appearance?
You obviously hope for the former, but any Bo would be great. I am not expecting him for the first 2 games to be honest. I think it will definitely depend on how we are doing. If we are up 2-0 in the series, I would probably wager he is going to sit out to see if we can close without him. If we lose any game, I'd say the process of him coming back in is going to be as expedited as possible.

i don't think Bo will be back until the ALCS based on a couple comments made during yesterday's game.
My only hope is when Hazel said to Bo "we'll see you soon".

This is where having a deep roster is paying dividends for the Jays. It's not like they have to rush Bo back as they have an all star defensive replacement as SS with other players filling in at 2B. Putting him in as a DH or PH isn't important when other players on the bench can easily step in and produce. Of course you can't replace his bat in the lineup but I think you will need him in later series at as close to 100% as you can get. I still wonder if they maybe move him to 2B or strictly use him as a DH.

On Jays Talk Plus they didn't expect he'll be back this weekend but wondered if he and the team are keeping quiet on how he's progressing and when he should be back to keep the Yankees and Red Sox guessing and not being able to prepare for just one situation.

The issue is if you put him as DH what do you do with Springer who seems to have thrived in that role, and with not having to play outfield.

If Bo isnt ready for game 1 then I don't think its wise to roster him. Every roster slot is too valuable. especially for the way the Jays play by committee. Re-evaluate in the CS

It depends really. I don't believe at under 90% he's as effective as the replacements, but if he's at that place, then perhaps you roster him and have him come off the bench. He's arguably their best bat when it comes to getting on base. That's super important, so if he's more or less ready you have to give him the chance. He's a proven guy, and on this roster I think it's important to have him in the lineup.

I think if he's ready enough to pinch hit, then yes I agree. That's all I'd expect of him at first anyhow.

But if he isnt ready at all (even for pinch hitting) for say, games 1 and 2 - but might be ready for game 3 onward, I think you have to make the hard decision not to roster him at all.

Maybe in the past. I can’t remember too many of those situations this year.

Was on a cruise ship this past week and was a bit painful relying on the score ticker to see the updates as the games were finished but awesome to see them get the sweep to hang on to the Division title.
