Easy. Waive him. He either gets picked up ( highly doubtful) or he goes to ahl

Waive him, send him down, let him play out the season and contract

Yah, even if we could buy him out, I fail to see any benefit in doing so? It's not like the Flames are against the cap this season. Just let him ride it out in the AHL, and recall him if need be.

Can he be sent to the AHL and then loaned to another squad? Or is that possible for AHL only deals?

Warm Bodies . Yep. Let's get some of those . Better than what Edmonton does with their crew of misfits i suppose but not by much .
Is Miro that bad ?

Exactly, it's that simple. No discussion needed IMO, not good enough to get claimed, not bad enough that he is not a decent callup when needed. Not expensive enough to be an issue.

I am struggling to understand any possible way that using a buyout on a player with his salary and term makes any sense. Wouldn't it increase his cap hit compared to just waiving him and sending him down, and add a cap hit for him next year. Is there a cap floor scenario people are worried about that they want to find a way to increase Miromanov's cap hit for?
I think I need more coffee, this is confusing me more than Jay Feaster's GM moves.

Waive him so he knows there’s no demand for his services. And then mutually agree to terminate his contract so he can play overseas.

Why would Miromanov agree to that? If he's sent to the Wrangles he's still in Calgary so his family (no idea if he has one) won't be affected. He'd give up 1.25 million dollars to go Europe to make half of that? Guys that mutually terminate contracts are typically unhappy or bad situations. Hell we could be off base with this thread, maybe Huska and Conroy still like him and want him for nhl depth.

Keep him around. He has no trade value and will clear waivers if need be.
After we trade Andersson we will need some RD bodies, and I would bet he makes his way into the lineup.

Keep him in the minors. Trade at the deadline for a 2029 7th rounder.
^^best case scenario

I think it's a long shot but I could imagine someone claiming him. The same things that intrigued Conroy could intrigue someon else.
