The saddest part about the event has to be the American fans. When your only chant is U S A you should just hang it up. Watching the Americans get curb stomped like they should be on home soil is quite satisfying.

On the golf the Europeans have made 1389 feet of putts and the Americans have made 1209 feet of putts. The main difference is that the Europeans make the putts when they matter. The Americans make the putts when the Europeans are out of the hole. That is why the 180 foot difference has led to 19 strokes gain on the Americans by the Europeans. It just seems like Europe is making more putts but they are just making more pressure putts.

Would be the all-time miracle if the Americans won this, need at least 8 outright wins to even have a chance.
Oh for sure the setup was an intentional decision for the team they had but seems like it kind of backfired. I also get that you don’t want a Ryder Cup full of bogeys and incredible slow play but BPB is kind of unrecognizable. And it seems to be playing rather short too, the par threes are a joke for example.

A lot of the drama is gone now unfortunately but still quite the event.

They are a special level of obnoxious and rude this year. I think its the trump second term that's really ramping the right side of that country up.

Bethpage's difficulty has always been about the punitive nature of the rough, that it was basically a one stroke penalty to be in the rough. So yeah to see it playing arguably easier from the rough, because of the ability to limit the spin, is a bit jarring. US Open has basically dropped it from consideration, PGA won't be back until 2033, so it'll be a while before we see if the modern distance standards have just rendered it obsolete.

But as we've both said when the Europeans are playing like they are you could do a combo of prime Bethpage rough and Shinnecock green stupidity and it wouldn't matter. Outside of the wobble at the end of the Rahm/Straka pairing today they've clutched up pretty much every time they've needed to. It's just an all-time great performance from them.

Rose walking that putt in today was pretty cool. That was probably the highlight for me.

The combination of cutting down the rough (a decision they could control) and the heavy rains making everything soft (something they couldn't), has basically made it where you might even prefer to be in the rough since the ball spin might be too aggressive otherwise. Get the range right, and the ball is sticking and you don't need spin to hold it.

I think he thought he missed… and then played it cool. Awesome either way.

Holy moly Americans are in a league of their own in ways to be insufferable.

They need a jumbo jet from London completely full of drunk English Soccer hooligans into the event. The headbutts would be glorious.

Well learn something new, Hovland can't play with injury, but that match is ruled a tie so without a shot even being played Europe is a half point closer. Would of thought it would be a forfeit.

If/When Europe gets to 14; do they keep playing out all holes or does it end if the early guys get it done?

It basically never comes down to the final match so they usually play out the remaining matches even after the Cup is decided. Last thing they need to do is get these angry, drunk fans even angrier by ending it early.

Wow, Bryson's putting has put him in a pretty massive hole after three holes.

As the old trope goes, shoot for show, putt for dough. Nothing sums up this week like Bryson nearly driving the first hole, and still losing it cause Fitz ended up closer on his approach and made his putt.

I expected that Europe would be good this tournament but I didn't think they would be on pace for the largest Ryder Cup victory in the history of the event.

Too bad this was so lopsided coming into today, lots of close matches, only two one sided ones so far.
